In reply to: [Joli Table Of Contents] Disabling Headings, Google Support, ColumnsHi
Disabling headings is a must for me – do let me know when you have included it – most other TOC plugins do this. For ones ‘that don’t exist’ I mean add in a heading for a certain text that is on page but not assigned a heading style. You can do both of these features by not showing a heading where it contains certains text or including certain text on page as a pseudo heading for the purposes of display.2 – Great
3 – Do let me know when you have the updates don’t and I’ll take another look.

In reply to: [Autoptimize criticalcss.com power-up] Best Practice for Rules by TypeHi Frank
As I am not getting anywhere with the Custom Post Type solution not working, I have been persevering with the Force Path-Based Rules. Slowly the rules are getting stored at a rate of about 1-2 per day.
My Advanced settings only allow for 3 requests per run.
I am about 1/10 the way through pages and posts processing into rules and my cache size is already over 300k. I think I will shortly run out of space.
I have 12 Auto Path-Based Rules and 6 generic type rules but the cache is holding 591 files.
I am worried the cache is going to break its limit and cannot see what to try next to get this implemented. Can I suggest a modification to group a set of pages under one rule set for people who have a few different page types all sitting under the is_single moniker?

In reply to: [Autoptimize criticalcss.com power-up] Custom Post TypesHi Frank
I registered it simply using the Custom UI plugin. I would look at how it was registered but I think the plugin which is fairly widely used just registers it with some functions in the functions file.
Is there some other registration needed for your plugin to pick it up as I am a little in the dark with what else I need to do?
Thanks

In reply to: [Autoptimize criticalcss.com power-up] Best Practice for Rules by TypeHi Frank
I did create a custom post type and created a new post in it. The post appeared in the job queue and was processed since it was not still there this morning. However no new rule was created so I still have the basic default post type rules only – is_single, is_archive, is_page etc. There is no new rule for the custom post type.
Is there something else I need to do to register it somehow so that Critical CSS Power Up sees it as a new type to create a new rule for?
Also, could you comment on the effect of enabling the ‘PATH’ option which I think forces new rules for each separate page – it’s another solution and easier to implement than creating custom post types but maybe has downsides speed-wise.
– where do all these rules get stored?
– how much space might they be expected to take up
– is there any speed effect in fetching those rules for any given page is there are hundreds of pages – I assume they are in a database and need to be found each time a page loads but that is just my assumption.There is a huge issue with Thrive, and other page builders I assume, as it puts wrappers around every single element which just bloats the page with unnecessary and unused CSS.
This is a duplicate please refer to earlier post.
Hi
I have the problem of a jumping fixed widget once the ‘fixing’ takes place the sidebar seems to grow in width. I don’t see any position relative code in the css for the container either. I seeelement.style {
position: fixed;
top: 117px;
width: inherit;
}
for the aside#rpwe_widget-2 (Recent Posts Extended plugin) element which is the container for the fixed widget but nothing I try is stopping the jumping on scroll – do you have any other ideas, please?- This reply was modified 5 years, 10 months ago by slipperx. Reason: clarify

In reply to: [Easy Table of Contents] Sidebar cut off clarificationI found the cause of the problem.
Certain characters are not handled correctly – from an earlier thread I saw ‘&’ was causing a problem. Well ‘-‘ causes a problem too.
So
Waterless Urinals vs Standard Toilets – How Much Water Will I Save? | How Much Water Will I Save gets ignoredHow Much Water is Saved with a Waterless Urinal vs a Standard Toilet? | How much Water Will I Save? Replaces as expected.
Also different xxx – xxx | yyy yyy – gets ignored but xxx-xxx | yyy yyy operates correctly
So it seems the Plugin is infected with WordPress’ handling of non regular characters. Is there a workaround for that without rewriting the headings?
Secondly I had mistaken Level [1.1] in the plugin notes as some sort of reference to the TOC numbering level – it’s not of course you actually have to copy in the words used for the titles the TOC is using to generate the table.

In reply to: [Google Analytics Dashboard] Plugin is not workingI get exactly the same error – used the ‘recommended’ OAuth method and now I see this error in the options panel – there is nothing in the options panel except the error. No options to retry, in fact nothing to click.
Tried deactivating /reactivating – same error shows.
Tried deleting plugin and reloading – same error shows.
how to fix this please
Hi
Great to see it is ready but I have a couple of questions.
Your documentation says you can configure how you want so you could use Towns, Villages & Burroughs as your hierarchy rather than continent, county, city! Am I right you start with the Default Continent – Country – County – City and then add sub-regions like Town (Child of City), Burrough (Child of Town) etc. going as many levels deep as you want? Or do you rename the original Continent – Country – County – City to your desired heirarchy keeping it just four levels deep?This leads to the front-end filter where the question is whether the labels – Country – State – City etc. are customisable because not every country has States for instance and if you are doing a local listing database Continent and Country are probably redundant and the States, Cities should be labelled according to the country or region your website is targeting. For example if I am doing a Buisness Listing Database for Middlesex in the UK there will be cities, towns (not part of cities) and villages so my users would only want to type in a Town or City (cities possibly broken down to North South, East, West & Central areas) or village.
I would imagine I would organise that by having all the County split into areas North, South, East & West Middlesex, then cities with the large ones split into areas and the towns & villages all on the same hierarchical level. When customers click on the front-end dropdown this will have to be labelled logically so it might have the County section labelled County Area with the four areas listed, then City/Town/Village as the second dropdown.
Hence the front-end screen needs to be customisable. Sorry to have been so long-winded.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] MSRP Extension Does not work if W3TC has JS caching enabledI think I managed to fix this by selecting manual minify method and excluding the plugin files. Will update if further issues arise.

Thanks for that heads up and yes of course it is the JS minification causing the issue and the WooCommerce link is as you say about caching.
I will take your idea and run with it although I have no clue how to work out the order JS files load or even which files are loading – do I just search through the plugin folders and find all the *.js files or is there a better way?
Thanks again for the clues to help me move forward.
I would like to know this too
