Thanks esmi, I paid my techy that did the orgianl build to fix my bad, he recreated the problem and discovered the upgrade did in fact mess with over 200 files (not sure exactly what) and then fixed my problem. Sorry I don’t have more detailed solution.

OK
1) Tried already to no avail
2) Doesn’t seem to make a difference on themes
3) Not exactly sure how to “reset” the folder but I did do a “refresh” on my FTP, which I don’t think is the same
4) Got a fresh download, unzipped, deleted old wp folders and put in new downloads.
Still same problem.

I went through individual permissions on folders (select folder on your FTP files, right-click>change permissions) and changed to 775 which seems to have worked.

Note: Network Solutions changed permissions and passwords and I believe this was a catalyst for many WP users hosted by NS. Cheers!

Did as suggested:
“try chmod 777 on /wp-content and uploads folder under it
do an upload – should work
chmod back to 755
should work from now on”
still a big fat “X” where thumbnail should be…

I’m also with NS callmebob so let me muck about with my permissions, fingers crossed.
