Disregard. Looks like this was related to BlogVault’s firewall blocking some requests. Once they adjusted firewall rules on their side, the View-As function worked (and reverted to Admin) normally again. (Please delete this entirely if possible; thanks!)

+1 for this. _cron_logs is the largest table in my WP installation at 51K+ rows. There absolutely needs to be a way to limit the history time frame.

@oldrup, we’ve faced this challenge, too.

I believe the roadblock here is that SimpleTOC only parses post content at the time its block is added to a single post, and/or when (re)saving a post.

In order for it to work in a template, like in a sidebar for example, I think it needs to parse and regenerate the TOC on every pageload. Despite this option being resource-intensive, some site owners require it. We use Kadence Blocks’ TOC for this. Couple of other options linked here (I have no affiliation with the site).

+1 for running into exactly this issue and was able to replicate on a staging site.

For now I’m using the show-empty-subcategories snippet but that has the side-effect of showing the empty Uncategorized category.

I’m using it on several dozen sites with Elementor, and no issues.

Would help to know what options you have activated – specifically for CSS and JS minification/combining/inlining. Those are typically the settings where configuration mistakes are easily made.

Adding that I’ve also tried switching to the free Phlox theme (vs Pro) – no change, error persists.

Disabled all other plugins except for Elementor and Auxin Elements – no change, error persists.

When I comment out lines 877-883, the error is gone.

I’ve also tested ensuring JQuery is loaded at the very top of document after seeing another similar report here. That did not fix the problem.

This was using the Posts widget of Elementor (Pro). Once updated to 2.1.2, all is working now. Thank you!
