In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Custom sitemap image count is zero but image url in sitemap?Hello @maybellyne
Thank you for the reply but as these are custom users and not posts, the
wpseo_sitemap_urlimages
does not apply as the post id variable is not relevant.I am building a custom sitemap for these users using the https://developer.yoast.com/features/xml-sitemaps/api/#add-a-custom-post-type method and adding the image within the function linked in
$wpseo_sitemaps->register_sitemap( 'download_artist', 'generate_fes_vendor_sitemap' );
As I say the image is present in the XML but the count does not update.
Please advise further
I can also confirm the issue is resolved. Many thanks!
Any timescale for the official update? I would prefer to update using that. Thanks!
I am also experiencing this issue with CF7. My site is entirely up to date and on the latest WP. No problem sending/receiving mail.
Please advise.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Custom sitemap images for taxonomiesHello @devnihil
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post again. I have tagged you in my existing request on GitHub Custom/filterable image url for taxonomy sitemap images. Please could you get this labelled and assigned from your end referencing this support request as no-one has picked this up as yet.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Custom sitemap images for taxonomiesHello
Many thanks for your reply however this issue is not a request for custom code. It is more of a feature request for the addition of an appropriate filter in the core code so that your users may decide which images are used for taxonomies in the sitemap. Many themes and plugin allow the addition of term images and if these cannot be added to the sitemap via a filter, it does not make Yoast as extensible as it should be.
It seems counterintuitive to offer a way to do this for posts but not for terms. Yoast claims to be the best SEO option for WP but unless users like myself can hook into the core code and decide which images to use in the sitemap, it causes issues. I do not add images to the term description and therefore cannot add images to the sitemap for terms as there are no filters.
Just recently Easy Digital Downloads has introduced term images and my theme also supports them. I am currently using a plugin for my term images and know exactly how to do this for Yoast but cannot if you do not provide a way to hook into the core.
Please consider adding a filter either within the get_term_images function of /class-sitemap-image-parser.php in order to make this a useful and helpful SEO feature for all sites.
Sorry to say not resolved for me even after the update. Not hanging for as long but I still get Not Responding on a refresh of the tab in admin and on frontend. Very strange.
Also getting this issue with Chrome Version 106.0.5249.119 but the browser hangs on refresh and close. Tried disablinG plugins, 2022 theme etc. Would love this one resolved as development is becoming trickier than normal!
