Thanks for your reply. I do not have a cache plugin installed but I’m using godaddy managed wordpress hosting and they say they use Varnish for front-end caching. Could this be effecting the captcha functionality?

Do I have to tell godaddy to exclude the login page from caching?

Fyi, They do have a way to flush the cache by appending ?nocache=1? onto https://website.com/wp-admin/. When I do this and then try to login with the captcha, it still is not working.

Thanks Grid24 for your suggestion. I do use a PC. However, I have already switched to UpdraftPlus for backups. I do prefer the configuration available with BackWPup but first and foremost, I need a reliable system.

I tried the zip archive formt and the result was the same.

I will have to switch to another plugin since this problem appears to have no solution. Thanks for your time.
