Thanks for the help – I found another plugin that was causing a conflict. Once that was deleted, all was fixed!

@bdbrown – thanks. Wasn’t going to do that on a public post or forum. Was looking for the plugin creator to provide a secure method to do so.

No security device added and no Jetpack Protect – or at least anything that we had was deleted. We had ReCaptcha, but deactivated and deleted the plugin. Could there be some files left somewhere that are causing this. If so, where would I find them?

I did see how to merge the content and attribute it to one user. However, I have a plugin installed that allows the user to sign up for events (WP Events Manager) . The user has signed up for one event under one username and a second event under a separate username. I was hoping to merge the usr profiles into so that we didn’t lose the event data.

I updated the New User Default Role – thank you that was easy.

New User approval still not working. A bit more detail:
v.2.8.8, WP 3.7.1
In the older version of the plugin saw the activate AND pending options.
It seems this has gone missing in my install. Willing to uninstall and re-install but with the various changes made how can I save them before doing this. Even checked screen options pull down at the top of the Users > All screen. All checkmarks are “on”. (Email, Role, Posts, First, Last) Nothing else.

Also – how do you approve someone from the backend? If we don’t use the link in the email, is there a way under users to see who needs to be approved?

Paste the code anywhere or should I be looking somewhere specific in functions.php?

Where would you add the code in functions.php?
