I have a plain vanilla WP 4.6 site, no content and the Twenty-Sixteen theme as a baseline and it takes forever to do anything. What gives Bluehost?? I have built so many of my client’s websites on Bluehost that it’s crazy. I always recommend that they purchase an account and now that my new project is so critical I have slow performance and 500errs every time I make simple changes! ??????

Hi people!! Thanks for your replies. LOL I posted so long ago I forgot about this thread. ?? luckily pagination wasnt a show stopper, but still on the wishlist for some instances within the site.

OK.. found the issue. Sometimes it’s the smallest things. After staring at the ‘Single Event Page’ box in the ‘events’ section of the Event Manager Options area, I finally got smart and decided to cut and paste the code into Notepad++ to get a better look at it. I noticed that the container DIV wasn’t closed. This is why the sidebar was inside the content div. DUH!!!!

OK I just want to clarify one thing.. here is why the sidebar is on the bottom. There is a div called #rightColInterior and for some reason its ending up inside #contentSingle. If I mod event-single.php will it completely override any theme template? In other words can I mod it similar to my theme’s page.php to create a custom event page?

Thanks Marcus. I told it to only show future events which is fine. I am curious to know how other people handle ongoing events with start dates from the past. One of the things that was requested of me was:

1. List starts at today’s date
2. Events starting this month come first
3. Events still going on for this month (but have start dates from a previous month) show up on the list for this month but at the bottom of the list with events that actually START this month at the top of the lst
4. NO previous months should show in the events list.

Any ideas? One last question- on my events details page (click any of them) my sidebar is on the bottom. Would you recommend that I build a new page template using elements from my current single.php and merge those into my copied event-single.php?

I resolved this issue by re-purposing the wordpress excerpt field as a subhead for my posts. Works great!

I wanted to use the get_excerpt because we have to use the excerpt field as a subhead for articles. The excerpt option on the plugin as is ignored this and uses the first x words from the actual post as the excerpt, thus ignoring our subhead. I will try the solution above. Thanks!

We WERE using the subhead plugin, but unfortunately its not allowing us to add subhead on the other blogs because its not WordPress network friendly apparently. :-/

Also, we are trying to create a seamless look between your plugin and the display posts plugin. This way we can hand pick the first 3 posts and let your plugin pull the rest from across the network. Am I doing this the hard way?

the site was originally on an IIS server and was on a Windows based CMS. It was migrated by a third party and every now and then I find a reference to an old ASP resource.

I am trying the bypass rule tonight and hopefully this will be it. I appreciate your feedback. It’s very helpful. I will be sure to post if it works.
