I don’t think it anything to do with this as I have removed this and it doesn’t make any difference.

I think it is a theme related problem as it doesn’t happen when I switch themes however it has on starting happening today and I am unsure why?

If I post my functions.php, header.php and footer.php file could you take a quick look and advise me on which lines of code to delete?

I understand what @chip and yourself are trying to tell me however the theme seems perfect for my needs the only problem I have is this footer issue!!

Has anyone over come this problem before, as I said I put quite a few hour work into this theme and really dont want to have to start all over!!
