In reply to: [Manual Image Crop] Conflict with Jetpack PhotonI communicated with Jetpack about this. The changes have to be made on the Manual Image Crop end. There’s nothing Jetpack can do.

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 UpgradeIn conclusion, it turns out that the issue had nothing to do with the WordPress upgrade, plugins or themes. The issue was on the server side.

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 UpgradeHere is an update on what happened with this issue.
I maintain another website on Midphase’s servers. When I checked that site, it was experiencing the same exact issue.
I migrated the smaller of the two sites into a test directory on Bluehost, and the issue disappeared, confirming my suspicion that this issue was caused by something that happened on the Midphase server.
I contacted the web host tech support, and they diagnosed the issue and fixed it on the server side. It took a while, but one of the sites is back to normal. I’m still waiting on the other.
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 UpgradeI just spoke to Midphase, my web host to see if they have any antivirus software running on the server that might be blocking the javascript. They are looking into it right now.

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 Upgrade@songdogtech – I could do that, but how am I supposed to know what the errors mean? I am not a programmer, I am a designer. Maybe I should just go back to the previous version of WordPress?

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 Upgrade@marius — I disabled it and I still can’t use the Visual Editor. Is there any other solution?

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 UpgradeIf it helps, if you select the text in the visual editor blank box, the text becomes highlighted. It is there, it just displays as white, in the courier font.

In reply to: Visual Editor not working after 4.4 UpgradeThanks for your response, but I am unsure what you’re suggesting that I do. The info that you sent me to says that I should just ignore scanners that report malware, but doesn’t offer a solution.
I turned off all the plugins and that didn’t change anything. I have the free Sucuri plugin, but when I turned it off it didn’t change the visual editor. Wouldn’t turning off every plugin resolve the issue if anti-virus software was blocking the Javascript?
I also replaced the wp-includes/js/tinymce folder, but that didn’t change anything, either.
Please advise!

In reply to: [Manual Image Crop] Crop saves but nothing happensThis plugin conflicts with Jetpack’s Photon. Try turning Photon off. That might work.

In reply to: [Manual Image Crop] Crop is not workingIf you are using Photon (part of Jetpack), that might be your problem. Try turning Photon off and see if Manual Image Crop doesn’t start working again.

After speaking to my web host, I discovered that even though the cPanel was saying that I was on PHP 5.4.whatever, I was actually on PHP 5.2. The tech support guy showed me how to get 5.4 on my site, so that’s working properly.
Thanks,
Sally
