In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] WEPBack up has destroyed my siteThe ‘server’ I’m referring to is the actual shared server at the hosting company. Can you access your c-panel or does your hosting company give you access?
If yes, then log into your account, find the c-panel, and go to the file manager where all the files belonging to your account are located.Assuming the hacker didn’t wipe your entire account and just messed with some of the files then:
In the wp-content folder, at the top of the list, is a folder where this plugin stores the backups: it is called ‘backupwordpress-##########-backups’. (Those ‘####’s represent whatever letters & numbers the plugin randomly named the folder.)Look inside that folder and you should find zip files that contain the database and zip files that contain the database & files. Find the latest date, download to your computer

In reply to: [BackUpWordPress] WEPBack up has destroyed my siteI’m so sorry to hear your misfortune, and I’m no expert, but I believe this plugin stores a copy of the last backup on your server.
Most reputable hosting companies have a back up copy of your site that is less than 30 days old — I know Bluehost stores daily, weekly and monthly copies. Worst that could happen is they charge you for restoring a backup, but often it can be requested for free.
So even if your server was hacked / wiped / infected, the backups are stored elsewhere on a different server, not in your account.
Try calling your hosting company to proceed.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Fast Secure Contact Form] how to create a drop down list for statesHi — thanks so much for such a quick response! That tutorial is very good — I wasn’t putting each state on its own line, my mistake.
works perfectly now!

In reply to: [WP Edit] Bad ReviewsSpot on Josh!
WP Edit is much appreciated as an alternative when Ultimate Tiny MCE was obsoleted through no fault of your own. I for one am very grateful that you put the effort into creating a free version that improves over the WP default.
What do they call us now? the Flex generation! It’s not an age demographic, but an attitude: Adapt or get left behind!I’m also using WPPA, no problem with WordPress SEO by Yoast. I mostly direct links off site.
Eureka!!!!! It works! I switched it to “stack off” and the links instantly work — hooray! Awesome. Thanks Opajaap!
Very astute of you to assume that I was using the default transition effect still and find the problem — lol, I didn’t think yet to try out different transition effects to troubleshoot.
Anyhow, thanks sooooooooooo much for sticking with me and finding this glitch. Looking forward to your new release whenever you get there — it’ll be awesome! Woohoo — I’m so excited to see this working!
No, this problem still exists:
“Here’s the problem: I have 6 photos in this slider: links to the odd numbered photos work, links to the even numbered photos don’t. Set this up in two different machines, achieved the same results. Set up a second widget w/ 4 photos also, same results.”
I don’t know enough about coding/html/ etc to begin to know what to look for. If you can offer some guidance, I can probably troubleshoot from there.
ok, thanks for the tip: I think I can figure this one out now since I know your plug-in should and will work with the combination of WP + Graphene and the other plug-ins that I have. Thanks again!
ok, thanks anyhow: I re-created this install on a second machine and don’t have the filmstrip issues there: I think I must have leftover javascript issues in the other WP install b/c I used a plug-in b/4 yours that was conflicting w/ everything else. I’ll get back to you later after I go live, if I can’t resolve this on my own. Thanks again @opajaap! Love how versatile this plug-in is — all the options are a bit overwhelming, but I’m slowly making it through your tutorial website!
thanks @opajaap: looks like I had these settings right: what I did wrong was enter the link url starting w/ just www instead of starting with “https://www.” oh well! there is no end to how silly newbies can be, eh? thanks again!
(Side note: it would be a good selling point to your plug in if you were very direct about saying “individual slides can be linked to off site urls”. I was unclear if that were even possible. I can’t wait to get my blog going: I want to brag about how versatile your plug-in is, and how well it works with Ultimate TinyMCE and Graphene!)
There is a second problem to this same issue: not sure if I should start a new thread? I apologise in advance if that be the case — just let me know, so I’ll know next time.
Here’s the problem: I have 6 photos in this slider: links to the odd numbered photos work, links to the even numbered photos don’t. Set this up in two different machines, achieved the same results. Set up a second widget w/ 4 photos also, same results.
What should I be looking for? What other information do you need to know?
thanks @opajaap! I set the width to auto, height at 0, and vertical allignment at “fit” the first try, and then I tried it a second time at “center”. The only change is the size of the slider photo is smaller by about 3/8″. The filmstrip is still hanging low. Do you think there’s any other “fix” for this? If not, I understand, and can live without it for now. I have another/different question but I’ll start a new thread for it. Thanks for your help either way — you’ve made an amazing plug-in and I’ll certainly be donating once I get going.
