In reply to: Where is Visual Mode? There is only disable visual editor. The tabs Visual and HTML are present with a link for Visual, but nothing happens when I click on it! I tried i Safari, IE and Firefox – no visual style is available. I even tried creating a new user and did not help either.

In reply to: Lightbox works partlyIt didn’t matter which version. This problem was with WP version 2.01, 2.0.4, 2.0.5, 2.0.6, 2.0.7 and 2.1.
My image URL’s already have double quotes.
I also tried the latest version 2.02 from the authors site.

In reply to: Blogroll and category issues with 2.1 upgrade – my solutionMy benefit is I have my own server, so I just browsed the MySQL data directory and looked for the file. I have no idea how one can delete this file if you have a web host.
I do agree with you that I wish I had not upgraded, but upgrading is a necessary evil when it comes to securing a blog. I figured on just upgrading it now and dealing with the issues as the 2.1.x updates should be painless.
I should make it clear that I did not try the above steps without deleting the wp_link2cat.frm file. I decided on deleting it since it was the file that caused me grief.
Also, the links do show in the side bar even with the php get_links_list() function in place – some have mentioned a change to this.

In reply to: wp 2.1 works with ie7, but not with ff2.0.1This could be your theme. When I upgraded from 2.0.7 to 2.1, everything worked fine in IE. When I viewed my blog from Firefox, I saw text only. I tried a different theme and it worked fine.
If you are not using the default theme, try that and see if it fixes your problems.
Now I just need to fix my blogroll problem…

In reply to: Merging of (blogroll) Links and Categories in 2.1Now I understand why this is happening with the Blogrole, and I understand that I must change the wp_list_bookmarks() functions within the theme files, but how does this fix adding new links?
As it stands, I cannot add a new link without getting an error:
SELECT category_id FROM wp_link2cat WHERE link_id = 3 ORDER BY category_id
and I cannot assign a category to the link.
When I delete the link I just created, I get this error:
WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_link2cat WHERE link_id = 4 ORDER BY category_idWordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
DELETE FROM wp_link2cat WHERE link_id = ‘4’The article provided does not give any information about this. Anyone have any ideas?
I can add a new post to the blog, and I notice that within the categories are the added categories of my links, with the title above the added categories as “links.” This makes sense due to the merge. I can even add the new categories to my post.
What is also interesting is that when I try to delete a category under Manage > Categories, I get this error:
WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT link_id FROM wp_link2cat WHERE category_id=’22’So it seems the Blogrole and post categories are affected by this merging. The question is how do we fix it?

In reply to: MySQL error after upgrade to 2.1I have a similar problem – received link errors when I upgraded from 2.07 to 2.1. My Link category is no longer available and I cannot add any links to the blog (that is, its in the blog roll but not on the site), when I do I get an error:
WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_link2cat WHERE link_id = 1 ORDER BY category_idWhen I edit the bookmark I just added, there is an error listed in the Category box:
WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’WordPress database error: [Got error 1 from storage engine]
SELECT category_id FROM wp_categories, wp_link2cat WHERE wp_link2cat.category_id = cat_ID AND wp_link2cat.link_id = ‘1’Would deleting my link categories fix this problem? And if so, how do I do that exactly? I am running WP version 2.1, PHP 5.2 and MySQL 4.1.22. I have no idea how to use a phpMyAdmin type program but this is on my own server so I have access to the MySQL command prompt.

In reply to: Editing and writing a post – does not refreshI think I found a solution – I had a long list of ping services configured to receive any changes to the blog. I removed many of these and this fixed the problem.
