    Catacaustic-

I went to wampserver.com, and will be able to download the 64-bit version of the program, and will try it out.

I am unclear, though, what you mean by “database.” Everything that was on the former server is now on my hard drive, with exactly the same file structure as it had on the old server. There is no real “database,” if you mean names, dates, addresses, dollar amounts, etc.

    Thanks.

Perhaps the following will help diagnose the problem.

When I first opened the page “Home” under All pages the content area was totally blank. But, if I clicked on Permalink: View Page, our home page came up! Don’t ask me how a page can come up if there is no content visible.

So, I copied and pasted the html from the home page into the content area, and edited that. The edits had no effect when I published the modified page. It seems that what’s under content there has no effect on our online home page.

This suggests to me that the content of our home page is not accessible via my WordPress Dashboard.

If that’s the case, where could it be? It’s not visible under the Theme we use. I have looked through all of the pages that our site has on the server, using Filezilla. All of the php files, etc. I can’t find the page there either.

This website was set up by a website design company that I would not use again. Then, they wanted us to pay a fortune for them to host the site and fix its problems. I suspect they did not want to make it easy for us to edit the home page.

    Tom-

    Yes. It’s https://www.folkup.org.

It appears that the problem is that there are more pages that are shown on the header menu on the dashboard than will physically fit on the header on the online home page. There are 9 on the header menu on the dashboard and without doing something I can’t seem to fit more than 7 items on the header on the home page.

    Options may be
    Making the header wider?
Adding another row to the header or adding a second header?
    Changing the font size?
Reducing the space between the text of the items on the header?

It some not seem to be a good option to place some of the desired items on pull-down menus.

Thanks for any suggestions you may come up with.

Thanks. It was called a facebook like widget, and I assumed it dealt with our site. Instead, it dealt with theirs. The delete option at the bottom of that widget info did the trick!
