I have also experienced exactly same issue as @avniy, wpcf7mailsent stopped work.
Form ajax sending doesn’t seems to work as well, redirecting back to the page after submission.
Tried update to 5.4.2 but no dice.
Revert back to 5.3.2 and works fine.
