In reply to: Bug? Quick Edit changes AuthorI haven’t closely investigated, but I think this might be plugin related because I noticed that I *do* have the author field in Quick Edit on another one of my WP sites.
@trivum If you disable all plugins, does the problem persist?

In reply to: [Plugin: Coauthors Plus] Author archives problemPlease disregard the last part of my question. the_author_description is deprecated, and I found the info about the coauthor meta.
But I’m still stumped about how to get the right author information on the author archive pages. I’ve been playing with the iterator class but I can only get one author name or the other, not the correct one on the right archive. Thankfully, the author archives are displaying the correct posts, but my hard working authors are not going to be keen to see my mug shot and bio on all their pages! ??

In reply to: Error when upgrading to WP2.8I have this same problem running 2.9.1. It started happening after I installed the @feed plugin.
None of my theme files have:
eval(base64_decode
When I re-upload http.php the problem goes away, but then comes back again later.

In reply to: Domain switching db questionIf you have pages/posts linking to other pages/posts on your WordPress site, I think you’ll still have to update those links in the database since those are absolute URLs.

In reply to: Gallery Tab Not Showing UpThe Gallery seems to fail on almost every first attempt now. After I upload images and click Save Changes, the Gallery tab appears and I can add a gallery as usual. But, when I view the post, there are no images. When I open the Media Library again, the Gallery tab is gone again, but the images are listed under Media Library. The only way to get the Gallery tab back is to delete the images and do the upload again. I’m able to insert the Gallery without errors every time on the second attempt, but only about 25% of the time on the first attempt.

In reply to: Gallery Tab Not Showing UpWP 2.7. Same here. I have to click the Media tab after uploading to get the Gallery tab to display.
Furthermore, after inserting a gallery and saving a post, I get an intermittent problem of no images showing up on the post. When I open the Media Center again, it shows no gallery for the post, though the images are in the Media tab. No gallery tab displays though, so I have to delete the images, then re-upload them, and re-insert the gallery.
All of these extra steps are slowing me down. Any fixes available for these gallery issues?
This problem goes away if I set WP Super Cache Status to HALF ON.
Ouch! Just noticed this problem in IE7 too! Anyone else?
Perhaps this isn’t a security issue, but it’s still a problem. I don’t want Opera users to see that long URL. Why doesn’t Opera obey the rewrite rules? Is there a fix available for this?

In reply to: Redirect old permalinks to new permalinksThe UrbanGiraffe Redirection plugin came to my rescue! (As did Google in helping me find this… the WP forum search is not very good.)
On another blog, I needed to redirect default permalinks to a new custom structure, and Scott Yang’s Permalink Redirect WordPress Plugin worked perfectly.
All hail WP plugin developers!!
