So I find out that when I upload to my media folder something in between my computer and wordpress is renaming the file. He showed me my files in the control panel. But for future uploads I don’t know what to do.

and if I do uninstall and reinstall am I going to have to have wordpress.com transfer my followers all over again?

I watched a wordpress video the other day and he said all you have to do is make a gallery page/post, In the body you put a title on the first gallery, add the images then under that, use your next title, add the images for that gallery and so on until you are done. Center it all, make sure you have galleries selected, save, then open up a new tab and see your galleries listed by your titles, it was pretty cool. I am also interested in doing this myself. Of course use low res images for faster loading.
