In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] WooCommerce Product TagsHello @jamesboothroyd ,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Product Dependencies does not support this case at the moment. As you mentioned, while you can create dependencies based on Categories, it is not possible to create dependencies based on product tags.
I can definitely understand that this feature might be very useful for your use case (and for other store owners as well). However, we do not have any plans to add any new features to this mini-extension in the near future.
With that said, if this functionality is urgent for you, it is necessary to write a fair amount of custom code to achieve the desired result. If you’d like further assistance with this, it might be a good idea to hire a WooCommerce Expert to help. Our top recommendation for WordPress/WooCommerce customizations is https://codeable.io/.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Dependencies do not work?Hi Catherine,
Thank you for your reply!
As far as I understand, your theme has a custom ‘package’ type of product, that isn’t the same as the default WooCommerce products (although it has the same behavior). Is this correct?
If so, then Product Dependencies currently only supports the product types I mentioned in my first reply (Simple/Variable Products, Product Bundles, Composite Products, and Booking products). Supporting another product type – or in this case, a ‘package’ – isn’t a straightforward task that could be implemented with a shortcode or a snippet. This would require carefully studying the plugin and changing some of its core functions.
With that said, this customization is beyond our capacity to assist: To be more helpful here, we would need to study your existing codebase and project requirements, and then work closely with you to implement and validate a solution. As much as we’d love to offer this kind of service to our users, I am afraid it is impossible for us to do this sustainably.
Would you perhaps consider hiring a Developer to assist? For WordPress/WooCommerce customizations, we highly recommend https://codeable.io/.
Many Codeable Developers have a spotless track record with WordPress/WooCommerce projects like this, and some have extensive technical experience with our extensions. The feedback we’ve received about Codeable from our customers has been very positive so far — so we’re confident you’ll be in good hands there.
Please feel free to share your experience with us if you decide to take this path!

Thanks for reaching out!
Our Product Dependencies plugin doesn’t include any translation files — you may double-check that by having a look at the original set of files that are included in the plugin: https://github.com/somewherewarm/woocommerce-product-dependencies.
Is there a chance that you created a dutch translation for this plugin in the past?
Generally, the best way to produce your own localization is to use a plugin such as Loco Translate. For more details about localizing/translating WooCommerce and WooCommerce Extensions, please refer to https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/translate-woocommerce-extensions/#section-2
I also noticed that the error message has the text is not entirely white anymore. All products mentioned are black-ish while translation text is white. Can somehow the entire text be white?
Product Recommendations displays the WooCommerce core “error” messages when a customer tries to buy a product without satisfying its dependencies. These messages are styled differently by each theme — in most themes, they are red: https://a.cl.ly/nOuvzg0R. If these messages show up white with white text, then I encourage you to bring this issue to your theme authors as it will likely affect other “error” notices in your site too.
Let me know how this goes!

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Does this read Woo product ID?Hi there Rob,
Glad to hear that creating a new product helped you resolve this issue!
I confirmed with our Engineering team that the plugin indeed checks if the dependencies for a specific product are satisfied based on the product id that they find in orders.
I will now mark this thread as Resolved — don’t hesitate to open a new one if you have any other questions for Product Dependencies!

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] restrict to buyer?Hello @tobilotta ,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Product Dependencies allows you to create dependencies between different products in your shop, so that only customers who have purchased/added to their cart Product A will be able to add to their cart Product B. This plugin doesn’t include any options to restrict specific areas of a product page to customers that have purchased a product.
I highly recommend reaching out to the WooCommerce Pre-Sales team and asking if they can suggest a plugin that will allow you to offer different content on the product page for customers that have purchased a specific product.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Maria Chekimoglou

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Does this read Woo product ID?Hello @hummerton ,
Thanks for reaching out!
Can you please share some more details about:
- the dependency you have created,
- the change you made (if it was on the main product or the dependent one), and;
- what you see now when you try to purchase the dependent product?
Moreover, do you still see the dependency set up correctly under Product Data > Dependencies?
Generally, changing the name and the URL of the product shouldn’t affect what shows up under this tab.
Looking forward to your reply!
Cheers,
Maria Chekimoglou
