Hi Alex,
I’m happy to hear you were able to achieve the desired result! ??
I have noted your suggestion and will discuss it with our developers in our next product hangout. I definitely understand that this feature could be very useful for your use case! However, since this is the first time we ever receive a similar request, I’m not able to provide an ETA — our developers would most probably like to gather more information about this from our support channels.
I will now mark this thread as resolved — feel free to reach out again if you have any additional questions we can help with!
Cheers,
Maria Chekimoglou

In reply to: [Product Bundles - Bulk Discounts] Add to quote.Hello @oleelstad ,
Thanks for reaching out!
As far as I understand, the issue here is that it is not possible to remove the Add to Cart button in your existing Product Bundles and allow customers to request a quote instead. Is that right?
If so, then can you please temporarily deactivate Bulk Discounts and let me know if this issue persists?
If it persists, then this behavior is not related to the Bulk Discounts mini-extension — this indicates a potential issue with Product Bundles in your site. Could you please submit a new support request for Product Bundles via your WooCommerce.com account: https://woocommerce.com/my-account/marketplace-ticket-form/ so that our dedicated Product Bundles team can assist you further with this?
Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Cheers,
Maria Chekimoglou
Support Team Lead | SomewhereWarm | https://somewherewarm.com/Hello @mrcarlsen ,
Thanks for reaching out!
As you correctly mentioned, when customers select a specific Variation in Variation Bundles and add it to the cart, then the corresponding Bundle is added to the cart instead of the selected Variation. With that said, if you add subscription plans on the Variable Product level these will not persist in the cart.
A workaround for this would be to create two different Bundles of 3 boxes:
- one that can only be purchased one-time, and;
- one that can only be purchased with a subscription plan.
Then, you can associate each Bundle with a different Variation (naming the Variation accordingly), so that customers will be able to select whether they’d like to purchase it on a subscription or not.
If you are not sure how to do this or you have any additional questions, please open a new ticket for Product Bundles or All Products for WooCommerce Subscriptions via your WooCommerce.com account dashboard at https://woocommerce.com/my-account/marketplace-ticket-form/ and we’ll be happy to help!

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] WCFM compatibleHello @danielcantuaria ,
Thanks for reaching out!
We currently don’t maintain an integration with WCfM on Product Dependencies and haven’t tested the two plugins on our side. I took a look at the WCfM plugin and noticed it creates a new ‘front-end dashboard’ for vendors, where they can manage Products among other options: https://a.cl.ly/ApuzDQDy, similarly to the way you can do it in the admin dashboard of your site. However, as you correctly mentioned, Product Dependencies can only be added via the Products tab of the WordPress dashboard — I am not sure how WCfM creates their multivendor dashboard.
With that said, it might be possible to achieve the desired result with custom code. Would you perhaps consider hiring a Developer to further assist you with this? For WordPress/WooCommerce customizations, we highly recommend https://codeable.io/.

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Dependencies do not work?Hello @cbdallaire ,
Thank you for trying this!
Can you please let me know what is the product type of the affected product? Currently, Product Dependencies work for Simple/Variable Products, Product Bundles, Composite Products and Booking Products (I have linked the related plugins for the custom product types).
Is there a chance that the Camping product you have created doesn’t belong in one of these product types?
Alternatively, if the product belongs in one of these types and you see a different behavior in each of the different languages, then it is very likely that this issue is related to WPML. On our side, we don’t maintain an integration with WPML — however, in the past their team has been quite proactive in resolving issues that showed up in combination with our plugins.
In this case, to confirm the source of the issue it is necessary to create a staging site from scratch — a site where WPML has never been installed. The reason for this is that even by deactivating WPML, the issue might persist since it makes some changes in database tables.
If you do this and you don’t see the issue on this staging site, then this means the issue is indeed related to WPML and the best way to proceed is to reach out to their team directly ??
Looking forward to your reply!

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Dependencies with quantity of productsHello @idjego ,
Thanks for getting in touch!
Product Dependencies does not support this case at the moment. More specifically, it is not possible to configure this plugin in a way that ensures that customers will be allowed to purchase up to X units of Product A if they have also purchased X units of Product B.
It is necessary to write a fair amount of custom code to achieve the desired result. If you’d like further assistance with this, it might be a good idea to hire a WooCommerce Expert to help. Our top recommendation for WordPress/WooCommerce customizations is https://codeable.io/.

Support Engineer | SomewhereWarm SMPC | https://somewherewarm.com/Hi @tabbenhues,
I have good news to share!
Our developers managed to resolve this issue and the fix is included in the latest version that is now live ??
Please update Product Dependencies to that version and let me know if category dependencies now work as expected when the product that has the rule also belongs in the same category.
Looking forward to your reply,
Maria Chekimoglou
Support Team Lead | SomewhereWarm | https://somewherewarm.com/Hi there @tabbenhues ,
Apologies for taking us too long to reply to this thread! ??
I followed the link you shared and confirmed the issue you reported. Moreover, I was also able to replicate this locally.
When a product with a Category dependency rule is in the same Category as the one you have set inside the rule, then it seems that it is possible to purchase it on its own by:
- adding it to the cart together with another product from the same Category,
- removing the other product from the cart, and;
- proceeding to the Checkout page.
From the looks of it, validation doesn’t work as expected in this case when customers go from the cart page to the checkout. Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention!
I have already looped in our Engineering team so that they can take a closer look and I will let you know once I have an update on this.
You can expect another reply from me here by the end of this week!
All the best,
Maria Chekimoglou
Support Team Lead | SomewhereWarm | https://somewherewarm.com/Hi there @saurabhkamyab
First of all, please accept my apologies it took us so long to reply to your request! I see that we have replied to threads that were opened after this one, so it looks like this thread fell through the cracks ??
By default, there is an ‘or’ relationship between the terms you add in the Product/Category Dependencies field. This means that even if one product that belongs in one of the selected Categories is in the cart, customers will be able to purchase the current product.
As far as I understand, you’d like to create a more sophisticated rule, where customers will be allowed to purchase this product if they have purchased one product from each of the Categories you have selected — this would mean having an ‘and’ relationship between the Categories you have selected. Is this correct?
If so, then please use the following snippet:
add_filter( 'wc_pd_dependency_relationship', 'sw_pd_force_and_relationship', 10, 2 ); function sw_pd_force_and_relationship( $relationship, $product ) { if ( in_array( $product->get_id(), array( 123, 456, ) ) ) { $relationship = 'and'; } return $relationship; }
Before using this snippet, please replace 123 and 456 with the IDs of the products to which you’d like it to apply (from the ones that have Product Dependencies rules).
If you are not certain how to use snippets like this, I’d suggest having a look at this plugin — you may find it quite useful as it allows you to manage all your snippets in one place.
Let me know if this helps! Again, I’m very sorry for taking so long to reply to you!
Cheers,
Maria Chekimoglou

In reply to: [WooCommerce Product Dependencies] Dependencies do not work?Hi there @cbdallaire ,
Thanks for reaching out!
I took a look at the product link you shared and confirmed that I am able to add it to the cart without having any other product in it and without seeing any dependency-related notification. Based on the details you shared, I understand that you’d like to allow customers to purchase this product only if they have also added a product from the Excursions Category in their cart. Is this correct?
If so, then a ‘Purchase’ dependency rule with the specific Category should allow you to achieve the desired result. If you have already created a rule like this and it doesn’t work as expected, can you also please double-check the product type of the Camping product? I’m asking because Product Dependencies support Simple/Variable Products, Product Bundles, Composite Products, and Booking products.
If the product has one of the above product types and dependencies still don’t work, then this behavior is most probably caused by a conflict. To further investigate this, please follow the below steps on a staging site:
- Temporarily switch back to a default WordPress theme (or Storefront). If this resolves the issue, then please bring this to the attention of your theme author.
- If the issue persists, then disable all other plugins except for WooCommerce and Product Dependencies. If this fixes the issue, then slowly re-enable plugins until you find the one that triggers it.
If you are not sure how to create a staging site, you can use a plugin such as WP Staging or Duplicator to do this.
Note that some hosts provide a Control Panel option for creating development/staging sites easily — if you are not sure about this, it might be worth asking your host as this is definitely the easiest and fastest way to do it.
Let me know what you’ll find!

In reply to: [Product Bundles - Bulk Discounts] Woocommerce Data ImportHi @dashi15 ,
Apologies for the delayed reply — it took me a bit longer than usual, but I have some good news to share!
We decided to add support for the WooCommerce Importer/Exporter in Bulk Discounts ?? This functionality will be added in the next version of the plugin (v. 1.3.9).
To see how this works once the new version is released and you install it on your site, please make sure that you first export your Bundles with this checkbox checked: https://a.cl.ly/12u41qJ9.
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

In reply to: [Product Bundles - Bulk Discounts] Woocommerce Data ImportHello there,
Thanks for reaching out! Glad to hear you like our Product Bundles-Bulk Discounts mini extension ??
It is currently not possible to import/export Bulk Discounts using the core WooCommerce Importer/Exporter.
However, most improvements we make in our plugins come from feedback like yours — so, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! I have taken note of your request to discuss it further with the rest of the team. Since we have received only a couple of similar requests in the past, I have the impression that it would be difficult to prioritize this soon.
In the meantime, you could achieve the desired result programmatically if you’d like. You can use the
woocommerce_product_export_meta_value
andwoocommerce_product_importer_parsed_data
hooks to get started.Cheers,

Support Team Lead | SomewhereWarm SMPC | https://somewherewarm.com/Hey @roxberryswe,
Thanks for reaching out! Cool avatar! ??
Your request sounds similar to this one: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/allow-product-bought-alone-using-this-plugin/.
As I mentioned in this thread, it is not possible to configure Product Dependencies in a way that ensures that some products are always purchased individually.
To achieve the result you have in mind it is necessary to write a fair amount of custom code. This guide: https://businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-allow-1-product-cart/ might help you get started.
If you need further assistance with this, then please consider hiring a WooCommerce Expert to help. Our top recommendation for WordPress/WooCommerce customizations is https://codeable.io/.
