The name field will be a useful feature.

The ability to duplicate~clone a giveaway is a great time saver and an awesome feature, but that feature does not need to be added into the giveaway plugin since it can already be accomplished using the versatile plugin Post Duplicator

Perhaps instead of adding cloning~duplicating as a feature that would require ongoing maintenance, a user notice might be incorporated somewhere like “To clone or duplicate Giveways quickly use Post Duplicator.” (link to it) Just a thought.

As for the simple post type almandareo mentions, it sounds like maybe they are referring to creating a series of scheduled posts using a custom type so these special posts do not appear in the normal post loop. I am not sure that I understand the use case for these. There are other ways (plugins) to filter regular posts so that only selected~filtered~categories posts display on a page and the normal WP scheduling feature (or a plugin) works for that purpose. ???

We have been using your plugin; however, I was a bit unclear about how entry points are earned.

I thought that an entrant who simply pasted a link on a social media page (or tweeted a link) was rewarded for taking that action, I did not realize that their link had to generate a new contest entrant to earn points. (this is fine)

That clarification would be helpful to include in the documentation so that plugin users understand how to properly represent what is required for entrants to earn extra points.

It could be a cool feature to reward entrants for simply taking the action of posting their links on social media (similar to how like counters work). Users might be awarded lower points (configured in setup) for pasted links and tweets and more points (configured in setup) when a link generates a new contest entrant. I realize the potential for fraud when points are awarded simply for pasting links so perhaps to prevent that, when a contest ends a script like a broken link checker script could run to verify that pasted links are still active. For links found to be broken then entry points for each broken link can be deducted. If the pasted links are still live, then earned points remain. The winner selection process would run after this verification step (if you add a feature allowing points to be earned for pasted links and tweets).

Hello Shea,

I deleted all snippets and deactivated the 2.8.6 version of the plugin on all sites on the network.

Then I updated the plugin to version 2.94.

Immediately upon network activation (with no snippets ) the crash occurred.

I removed the plugin via FTP to resolve the crash and then reinstalled it via FTP.

Next I activated the 2.94 version on a couple of individual sites rather than network activated and the crash did not occur.

Apparently the issue is related to network activation somehow or I suppose it could be some conflict on one or more sites on the network; however, since there are no saved snippets I am unsure what other type of plugin it might conflict with.

Thoughts?

Not looking forward to manually going through and activating it site by site on all sites on the network to try and locate the conflict.

Any suggestions about how to proceed?

It occurs even though all snippets are disabled in the network admin interface, but I have not yet tried Safe Mode.

Now that you mention it, all o the snippets are set as shared on the network, so one snippet might be active on a subsite causing the white screen.

I’ll explore some more on my end as well.

I actually failed to mention that I also use the second plugin Multisite Dashboard Switcher because it reveals the actual multisite url of subsites which is helpful when subsites have mapped domains.

For example, one of our multisite networks is subdomains with multi-domains available for new sites and domain mapping available for all sites, seeing the name of a site in the drop down list may not be enough information to locate the underlying subsite associated with that a site name in the drop down. Does that make sense? Do you per chance have a code snippet to also display the base site url along with the site name and site ID in the drop down?

This is occurring on subsites without a mapped top level domain on a WP4.8.2 multisite network. The network has multi-domains and domain mapping features active.

Here is one log in page where you can experience the issue.

On subsites that have a top level domain mapped to them, the issue is not present.
Here is an example:

Any advice will be appreciated.

Is there any difference between the WP hosted version of the plugin and the Gitub version? I notice modifications on git 16 days ago, but WP repository indicates this plugin has not been updated for 2 years. ??

Thanks for your response.

The notice I am referring to can be seen in the top right hand corner of this screenshot. “Moved some files. UNDO X”

It appears each time after I drag 2-3 images into a folder.

I really like have the UNDO notice as it is not uncommon for drag and drop items to land on a different location than intended and should there be any question, then UNDO fixes it.

I did try the bulk move feature and using it to move multiple files is fast and efficient and does not trigger the undo notice.

I just thought there might be a setting I was overlooking for making the UNDO notice optional.

We are using your plugin on several subsites of a WP 4.75 multisite network and we have styles created on those subsite where it is being used.

Your plugin may be activated on some other subsites, but is not yet in use on those subsites.

Am I understanding that you think these notices may be generated when your plugin is activated and BEFORE styles are configured on the sites where it is activated?

Is that what you are indicating?

If so, then it sounds like your thoughts are that when your plugin is activated the notices may appear until a style is created on the site where it is activated.

Am I understanding correctly?

Same question. When activated on one of our 4.7.5 multisite networks, this plugin does not appear to work.

It does not seem able to distinguish between a single site installation and a multisite installation which is very different in terms of creating plugin groups for a single site versus creating plugin groups for many different subsites on a network.

We currently use Plugin Organizer to create groups of plugins on our multisite networks and it works well.

If it helps motivate you ?? your plugin is my go to among nearly a dozen I have tried.

I like that your plugin allows insertion of the shortcodes of other plugins in the message area because that makes it SUPER, SUPER versatile. We can display countdown timers, or just about anything we want. Most message bars do not provide that degree of flexibility.

So thanks for an excellent plugin that really works well for us on many sites across a number of MS networks.
