I have the same issue with Pagespeed. Apparently, Google doesn’t recommend javascript instead of a web address. Do you have a solution from the development team?

Just so people with the same problem know, I abandoned the plugin as well. I’m using the GCSE script for a two page layout but I copied and pasted the plugin CSS (number 2 and 3), adding a div to the script with the plugin class and id, and some minor arrangements, it was better for me than rewriting everything. As far as I’m concerned, this works for me.

I’ll mark this as solved, I used troubleshoot mode and started with WP Google Search, that wasn’t the cause, and by the time I tried each plugin and theme, everything was back to normal.

And there it is!

In style.css there was:

.wp-caption img[class*=”wp-image-“] {
display: block;
margin: 1.2% auto 0;
max-width: 98%;
}

There were other caption related classes, I fiddled with them all and the conclusion is that it’s happening here. I put max-width: 100% and everything is fine, without side effects.

Since the developer doesn’t seem to want to make many changes (reading other posts on the support forum where he says he doesn’t have time to deal with it anymore), I’m looking for a another solution if it exists…

Hello @rogierlankhorst I just put the latest version you provided, it had a weird effect (displayed ads for visitors, not for admin, then not at all), I tried troubleshooting mode and got the message “When activating the plugin, complianz-gdpr, an error occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.” The site was completely broken in the troubleshooting preview, even with the Complianz plugin disabled. I exited the troubleshooting mode and everything seems ok (the ads code is displayed). Can I monitor this for a few hours and tell you later if it’s really ok?

Yes, I’m talking about how to avoid counting visits from the office in Analytics. In UA we have been using IP filters for years which worked perfectly, in GA4 we created a rule to identify internal traffic in the web data stream and then excluded with a filter. I don’t know why it is handled differently (the same IPs are blocked).

So, as I said, I noticed the difference at the same time as the subject of this thread, but didn’t link them. This morning, after I put 6.3.5, everything was fine, filters in UA and GA4 were working again, but now with 6.3.9, UA IP filters are not working, but GA4 is working fine. I’ve installed 6.3.9 on two websites and it’s the same on both.

To be completely complete on the subject, Adsense and Complianz work, and the internal traffic filter works on the GA4 version, but not the UA version (as it should disappear, it may not be so annoying anymore). If you have a track for that, great, otherwise thank you for the main problem, it’s a relief!

I put 6.4.5 while waiting for the other answer, it works. But in doing so, am I stuck on this version?

I don’t know if this helps, but we had another issue related to Google and I didn’t think it was related to Complianz: internal traffic IPs were no longer filtered in Analytics reports. Going back to 6.4.5 it’s fixed too.
