Please note that I have fixed this issue. What was not activated was the enable tooltip box at the top of the page. As I had not changed tool tips, this box should not have been unchecked. Maybe that is the issue with updates, not sure, but as of now, it is fixed.

Is there a way I can also communicate with them to keep abreast of any changes they may make?

I will be forced to abandon this plugin shortly because buyers leave my order page when they get to the choosing music stage and well, this plugin is one of the best out there. I would like to avoid having to build my own player.

Hello….here is an update.

Okay, I was working with a developer on my wordpress site and he said that though this problem MAY SEEM TO BE BETTER, IT IS NOT.

His response below highlights a javascript error in this Compact Wp Audio Player and I am sending it to you to see if this is something that can be addressed as it would help many a user. Also, please let me know if you work directly with the developer of this plugin.

I still see the same issue with tracks.
I don’t really think that this is related to caching, it’s a javascript error and, as I said, it’s caused by the code which, if you switch songs too quickly, will try to do to actions (play/pause) at the same time which is causing the error.
Sometimes it might look to you that it’s working fine, because it won’t happen each time, sometimes songs manage to load without this issue, but try few more times and you’ll see that the issue is still there.

which you could show to “Compact WP Audio Player” authors as it’s a real cause of the issue.

Good news!… thus far, disabling caching of the pages with mp3s has proved successful! They all play on the website without any problem.

As I also have mp3’s on my Gravity Form, I am now looking to see how to prevent Gravity Forms from caching it’s pages.

For the benefit of anyone having this same problem and reading this post, here is the page that tells you how to disable caching for Gravity forms: https://docs.gravityview.co/article/58-about-gravityview-caching (scroll down to see, “How to disable the cache”.

I just have to place the following code in my wordpress theme’s functions.php file:
add_filter(‘gravityview_use_cache’, ‘__return_false’);

I know how to access the functions.php area but when I get to that page, I am not sure where to insert it. Need to figure that out then I can report on how well the mp3’s perform on Gravity forms.

One last thought… I looked up what caching means and it seemed as though having all of my music cached would be a good thing as it would be automatically ready for a user to hear rather than causing the site to go and retrieve the music. Am I wrong?

I added another just two days ago because the issue presented itself. I can remove one. Is there one you recommend that I keep over the other?

Also, I am not clear if I should exclude or include a URL from being cached? And if am suppose to do exclude it, how do I do that? (Note: one of the pages that is giving me issues is from the Gravity Forms plugin that i have on my website)

Okay, Re: a cache plugin, I have W3 Total Cache, and WP Super Cache installed. I do not know how to exclude the pages with the audio files from being cached? (Is this something I should do?)

Okay, I disabled “Disable Simultaneous Play: (I unchecked the box) and the problem got worse. Instead of the play buttons not working when a buyer pressed the 8th play button, the play buttons stopped working when I clicked on the 3rd play button.

I did check as you suggested above and yes, I have enabled “Disable Simultaneous Play”.

The issue I am having is that while a buyer can click the play button for about 7 tracks or so, when they get to the 8th track, the play button for that 8th track will not play and neither will any other play button for any other track.

If you click the play buttons at a normal rate in succession, you will see that, at some point, you will not be able to click them anymore.
