In reply to: Notify all Twitter plugin authors of new authentication APIleylap – check your theme.
Most likely something going on there if you have no plug-ins using Twitter or connecting to Twitter.

In reply to: [Tools for Twitter] [Plugin: Twitter Tools] can't seem to get it to workI have found that if you send a Tweet from the blog backend interface before publishing your post, it will then tweet it.
Backwards, but it seems it needs that extra authentication sent before it will read again. Really hope the devs get back into it and fix this one issue. I know it is most likely the new oAuth from Twitter causing the issues.

In reply to: Update to 3.01 failed, can't access websiteIf you are using an FTP client to search for the .maintenance file, make sure “show invisible files” is on if the client allows it.
Some FTP client software automatically hides any files with a “.” in front of the file name, because most of the time people don’t need to access those files.
(This is true for Transmit on the Mac. YMMV.)

In reply to: logo option missingI edited the header.php file
I replaced the php calls for the logo to use a regular image call.
This issue was fixed in the latest update.
Definitely a bait and switch going on here. This “plug-in” is nothing more than a developer using it as a way to advertise their services/products.
The only function of the plug-in is to bring in ad copy for the developer’s site where they charge a premium for their themes.
Bad juju here.

In reply to: Upgrade ErrorI got the same error, did the plugin reset.
Got the Dashboard back, but not the site itself.
I just updated around 20 WordPress sites and this is the only one that is giving me this issue.

*UPDATE*
The site didn’t like the new twenty-ten theme, which it defaulted to for some reason after upgrade. Switched back to custom theme and all is good.
So, never mind.

In reply to: [Plugin: CaPa Protect] Fatal Error at InstallationI got the same error.
From the description this plug-in is exactly what I need for a project I am working on for a business, but the error just threw up all over itself.
Any advice would be appreciated. Pretty virgin install of WordPress.

In reply to: nice theme but the featured imageThat worked. Thank you.
I had tried myriad custom field options but could not some up with “screen”. Now that I know it is working perfectly.
As a note: no need to add the height/width or size the image as the theme seems to do that for you.

In reply to: Video embed not workingI use the SmartYouTube plug-in to take care of YouTube video embeds. Works like a charm, as WordPress strips a lot of the code that YouTube gives for embedding videos.
As for other sites, no idea, as I generally don’t link from them.

(Have the RSS feed for your site man)
Nonetheless, I agree. Even though the plug-ins are free there needs to be an option to disable things like this. PodPress has a problem with things like this, and AdRotate has that annoying little dot next to the ads that is bad.
I have no problem pimping your plug-ins, and am in the process of creating a plug-in directory on my sites to list them if people wish to know what plug-ins I use. I just don’t want them to be front and center in my content. I did not create my site to pimp your stuff, I created it to pimp my stuff.
I am sure some will take that as harsh and self-centered, but it is the truth. We all create our sites to pimp our stuff not other people’s stuff. If we want to pimp your stuff we will do it, but give us the option.
As it is, I can remove these things myself by modding the code. It isn’t a problem for me, but as Gene stated a checkbox would be sufficient.
