In reply to: [Recent FB Posts] Error with Global IDAnd I get the same thing as well…
“global ID XXXXXXXX is not allowed. Please use the application specific ID instead”
… which is exactly what a number of us have been stating to you and you do not seem to understand the problem. At this point, until this problem that way more than one of us are having is resolved, this is totally unusable

In reply to: [Recent FB Posts] Error with Global IDI am still having the same issue as well, facebook does not allow using the global ID and just how do you find what the application specific ID is? I have been watching this for an answer and still no-one has resolved this simple issue….

In reply to: Any way to get Posts listed in WordPress.com Tag Pages?I would think that by now there would be links created, all of us moving to our own domains and now left out in the cold

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Smooth Gallery] Adding a link to the images?I would think that this is easily possible by changing the full image link to the link of the website etc and adding target=”_blank” into the mix so it opens in a new page… I have not tried this as yet, but it is logical and I will be trying it once I have this plug-in installed this morning. Would be located in this section of setting up:
<div id="myGallery"> <div class="imageElement"> <h3>Item 1 Title</h3> Item 1 Description <a href="mypage1.html" title="open image" class="open"></a> <img src="images/brugges2006/1.jpg" class="full" /> <img src="images/brugges2006/1-mini.jpg" class="thumbnail" /> </div> <div class="imageElement"> <h3>Item 2 Title</h3> Item 2 Description <a href="mypage2.html" title="open image" class="open"></a> <img src="images/brugges2006/2.jpg" class="full" /> <img src="images/brugges2006/2-mini.jpg" class="thumbnail" /> </div> </div>
Hopefully someone with more experience with this plug-in will chime in and say yes or no to this solution *smile*

In reply to: Permalink Doesn’t Work – Get 404 Errorthank you for the link! am checking the errors now, and I know, that is why I thought it very strange that some cannot access the page at all. It is definitely active.

In reply to: Permalink Doesn’t Work – Get 404 ErrorI am a brand new WordPress user and I am having a problem and I think this is similar, but the one and only time I posted in this forum last week I got slapped for supposedly posting in the wrong place. I have most people that can access the blog url and then I have a very few that cannot access it at all, they are getting a 404 page not found error. This blog is located in a subdomain and I only mention that if it might be an issue. the url is “https://ej.startiste.com” – if anyone has any ideas on this, I would be most appreciative, and thank you ahead of time. I did check the htaccess and it is correct.

In reply to: mysql database server going down at hostI profusely apologize, this is my first post to this forum and I am sorry I posted in the wrong place. My apologies once again, I will not take up any more of your time with my ramblings. Thank you ever so much for the wonderful kind and helpful support in resolving my issue, regardless of where I posted it. Have a nice day.

In reply to: mysql database server going down at hostfurthermore, I just checked the darn thing for the umpteenth time and it is now functioning. I am reticent on setting up this brand new one with hours of work and having the same thing happen again. I would really like to know first what is going on before I spend hours resetting it up again.

In reply to: mysql database server going down at hostThat is just too strange. I have no problems at all with any other of my MySQL databases, and some of them have been operating for years, and the check system says it is functioning properly, not to mention it is a brand new fresh install so how can it be corrupted. And not only 1 but 2 installs that would not work. I just installed the first one yesterday… it just does not make sense that it would be a host problem if they are two completely different host servers

In reply to: mysql database server going down at hostI too all of a sudden cannot access the new WordPress blog setup. Was working fine last night when I set it up and this morning I cannot enter either the admin area or the WordPress site itself. It comes up with an error that only says DNS. I even went so far as to completely uninstall WordPress and reinstall and I am getting the same exact thing as stated above with the brand new fresh install. I have checked the MySQL database and it seems to be functioning properly, I see nothing amiss with it at all. The last thing that I did to the Blog was to add a plug-in named “add to anny subscribe”. Since I completely uninstalled WordPress from all of my directories, and double checked to make sure both the database and all related files were deleted, I do not attribute the problem to the plug-in, though I could very well be mistaken, but I should think a brand new fresh install would work… I am at a loss and I am not yet familiar with the quirks of WordPress to evaluate and fix, if this is even a problem I can fix myself… And no, I am not hosted with GoDaddy, I am hosted with another hosting service, though this should not make a difference I should think.
