If you need static versions u should try an alternative solution. such as movabletype. the way i see it, the whole idea of WordPress is to get rid of the nasty “page bulding” required by most other software.

That would be great asantos if u can script one. I like having all my admin pages in one place so i’m sure everyone else would appreciate it as well.

michel: I tried your method but it still doesn’t work. I tried changing the post in PHPMYADMIN but apparently it also gives the same results (the text becomes question marks). I guess there has to be a conversion to be stored in the database.
I’ll wait for the next release. hopefully this feature will be added.
