I was having the same issue as you Shelley with the Footers. I stopped editing with IE, and edited and saved the widgets and footers using Firefox. All of a sudden they started working.

I can browse the site using IE, but I just don’t edit with it any more.

Just an option, but it may work for you.

No further action required on this support ticket. I have resolved the issue and found that the icons are generated using the Genericon Plugin.

A post category is required called “Featured” and with the slug “featured” will have to be added to your post categories. The slider will pick up the latest 3 posts from this category and the image if you have set a featured image. Recommended slider image sizes = 960px width 300px height

Thanks. I have added the information into the inc/socmed.php file and the inc/customizer.php file which work well and creates a link without an icon.

How can I add the Instagram icon as well?
