I’ve swapped to the storefront theme and am still experiencing the issue. Now I have other issues.
My next step is to work on disabling the plugins. This will take me some time. There are 50 plugins on this website.
I checked the log for there is a fatal error, from back on 2/19
I am adding that here in case it will help determine what is wrong. In the meantime I will be working on the plugins.

The PP account is getting funded.
PayPal tells us the IPN is working as expected.
There is no other warning in the logs file, I’ve looked at all of the records.
I am not seeing ANY error messages in the log.
I see one warning which I included above., since that warning there are no new entries in the log. even though I have donations after that warning. I am not filtering the list.
I am asking the account holder to confirm the primary email address is being used. As far as I know he is receiving the funds. The issue seems to be the donation not getting set to complete and the email is not getting sent.
sorry, I spoke to soon. I am getting to the receipt page, b ut the donations is till set to pending.
I just figured out what is wrong.
Override Legacy Donation Management Pages was enabled.
I have that turned off and now get to the receipt page.
I think that is it for now.
To clarify, I removed the caching plugin and re-tested. And we are onto the IPN history.
Thank you for the response. I do not have access to the paypal account, The account holder is reviewing the IPN History. What specifically are we looking for?
If there are no errors reported, is it possible the password protection on the website is blocking the return to the site?
On second thought I get sent back to the website, just to the home page and not the receipt page.
Please confirm the IPN should be set to :

Should I be seeing every transaction here in the log? I ask because I did more than one test on 2/2 but there is only one logged transaction on that day . and it is this error.All the other records have a status of info.

I cannot use and SMTP plugin for this website. I have to use default WP mail.
I am not using any custom templates for the email.
All of the other emails from ultimate members are being sent and received as html. Only this reset password email is not.
I did a test and installed ?“Post SMTP” for the logging.
I sent a test and the email in the log looks like what I would expect, rendered html. I have other plugins for email login, showing me the same, rendered HTML Just like the other emails sent from UM.

I have a feeling the database simply needs to be cleaned out. Some tables are way to large.
I will clean up the database and if I continue to have the issue, I will be back.Thank you for the help!
