Hi there, thanks for reaching out to us about this.
We identified an issue where Leadin was capturing form submissions, but was not marking this submission as ‘processed’. This would have caused you to receive multiple submission notification emails, and show multiple submissions on the Contact’s timeline when only one submission occurred.
This was due to a change in form processing on Friday evening, which we resolved immediately once we became aware of it. If you wanted to learn more about how Leadin captures and processes form submissions, I’ve documented this process here. On top of the resolution to this issue, we’ve also put new updates in place which should prevent anything like this from happening again in the future.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused. You shouldn’t experience this issue again, but if you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
Kind regards,
ShayHi Vikrant,
At the moment v4.2.2 does not collect information in fields that are hidden on forms, but this is something that we are planning on revisiting soon, mentioned over here.
The notification emails should be working a-ok in the newest version of Leadin (v4) if not, definitely let me know. At the moment they won’t include any hidden information on a form and this sounds like why you are not seeing the short code data from ‘contact-form-7-dynamic-text-extension’, since Leadin does not look for hidden fields. This may change in the future, I can definitely keep you posted if it does.
Hi Vikrant,
This version of Leadin you are using is quite an old version of Leadin, we are currently on version 4.2.2. Could you update to this new version and let me know if you are still seeing any issues with emails then? You can download it from here.
Thanks!
-ShayHi Vikrant, just responded to your email message to us but I wanted to post this here too just to clarify:
The way Leadin is configured to capture form submissions, we actually do not capture hidden fields on forms intentionally, so I’m afraid there is currently no way to change this behaviour you are seeing.
We do have plans to change this and allow you to capture data on hidden fields on forms, but at the moment I don’t have a definitive timeframe for when this might be possible but I can definitely keep you posted if that works for you?
Thanks,
ShayThanks for reaching out! Not quite sure why you wouldn’t be seeing submissions in the last few days but we can definitely get to the bottom of it ??
If possible could you shoot me a mail to [email protected] or via the Help button inside the plugin, with some links to the forms in question that haven’t been collecting submissions in Leadin and also some example information that was submitted?
I should be able to confirm what’s changed that might cause this.
Thanks!
-ShayHi Deyson,
We do have plans to offer a paid version of Leadin in the future but we do not plan on removing the free version of Leadin, instead we would like to offer additional functionality for power users of Leadin that would provide even more value.
Regarding Sendy, you’re actually one of the first people to suggest a Sendy integration for Leadin, at the moment a Sendy integration isn’t on the roadmap for Leadin but that doesn’t mean it never will be. The way our team works is that we ravenously listen to our users feedback, and when a feature request is asked for enough and it makes sense in the grand product vision, we usually bake it into the plugin.
At the moment Leadin integrates with MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, GetResponse and AWeber, but it’s likely we’ll expand this in the future.
I’ll definitely keep you posted as we have news on capturing submissions with EDD.
Thanks!
-ShayEvery form that we scrape goes under a number of processes that attempt to identify sensitive information and blocks this information from being sent to Leadin at all. This logic assumes standard wording like ‘credit card’, ‘visa’, ‘amex’ etc and we have yet to experience a failing of this logic. We also include checks which detect if a form contains a password field and will ignore this field on the form.
In addition to this we are considering implementing a ‘kill switch’ of sorts which would allow you to add a CSS selector like ‘.leadin-ignore’ to any forms which Leadin should never track submissions on, and from then on Leadin will simply ignore any submission on that form completely. Does that sound like it would be an appropriate solution, in addition to the logic we already include?
Thanks,
ShayHi Deyson,
Thanks for reaching out! At the moment Leadin doesn’t successfully track forms created by Easy Digital Downloads but we’re working on making some changes which should allow us to do so. We are hoping to make it so free (non payment processing) submission on EDD forms can be tracked.
If it is the case that there are any sensitive pieces of information being captured like credit cards on a charged purchase with EDD, Leadin will not track that submission because it will automatically filter out submissions that contain sensitive data.
I can keep you posted as we have more news on supporting EDD if that works for you?
Thanks!
-ShayHi there, thanks for reaching out!
Without going through the setup, Leadin cannot track anything for you which is why the popup persists. The setup should only be a couple of steps, no more than 1 minute to complete (and you can postpone the migration if you need to) but if you don’t want to do it right now I’d suggest deactivating the plugin from within WordPress > Plugins until you do want to go through the setup and at that point Leadin should be able to continue tracking just as it always did.
I hope this helps, let me know if there is anything I can clarify.
No problem, I’m happy to help!
So here’s the cool thing, you don’t need to do anything to make Leadin and Contact Form 7 to connect to each other. The way Leadin is built, it will automatically track and log submissions on any form on your site, not just Leadin forms, and there is no configuration needed. Leadin just needs to be switched on ??
Give it a shot and let me know if there is any trouble with it. Leadin should automatically work with most forms, and Contact Form 7 is one we have tested and know works well.
Thanks,

Hi Mark, thanks for reaching out!
Taking a look at those two sites it does appear that Leadin is configured correctly. Can you double check that the submission notification emails are not hitting your spam folder? It might be the case because with the newest version of Leadin we updated the email address these notifications come from to a new address, and if you had some whitelist in place it might not work for this new address.
If there are not hitting your spam filter could you pop me a mail to [email protected] and we can take a look deeper? I need to confirm a few things like email addresses and might be better to that conversation offline ??
Thanks!
Hi there, thanks for reaching out!
At the moment it is not possible to trigger the popup in this way, based on clicking on an element, but it is something we are looking into adding possibly in the future.
In the meantime though there are a bunch of form plugins that Leadin should be able to automatically track form submissions on, and what you are looking to achieve may be possible in one of them. You can see the list of supported form plugins here. This is by no means an exhaustive list, there may be more, these are just the ones we have tested and can confirm work.
I hope this helps! If there are any issues just shoot me a mail to [email protected].
Thanks!
Hi Matt, sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this question, it actually slipped past me, ninja thread…
Thanks for your feedback about Benchmark, we’ve heard the same feedback from a few users too. At the moment it’s not on the product roadmap for Leadin but that doesn’t mean we won’t ever build it. The way our team works is that we ravenously listen to our users feedback, and when a feature request is asked for enough and it makes sense in the grand product vision, we usually bake it into the plugin.
We are working through the initial release of Leadin Cloud at the moment, but in the pretty near future we’ll have a chance to look into more integrations.
I do always love circumventing systems in a clever way and also sharing knowledge though, so I’ll let you in on a little tip. If you share Leadin with enough of your Benchmark-using friends and they all request the integration, we’ll probably build it ??
I hope this helps answer your question. Let me know if there is anything I can clarify.
The ability to delete contacts is something that we are working on at the moment actually. The recent update to Leadin was a complete rebuild of the tool so there are some features that we are working on returning to Leadin Cloud.
We should have it completed relatively soon but I can keep you updated here as we have more information.
Regarding the error with MailChimp, would you be able to shoot me an email to support(at)leadin.com with the URL of your WordPress site and a screenshot of the error if possible? We can take a look further and hopefully confirm how to resolve it.
Thanks ??
