In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersI deactivated 1.8.5 then renamed the Postie directory in plugins, then UPLOADED & extracted the older version you sent me the link to (1.7.32)
In my site Plugins I Activated 1.7.32, and found all my settings in place: users all listed, etc.
— although this is quite convenient for me, I AM NOT SURE THIS IS GOOD BEHAVIOR?Anyway now SUCCESS: Postie published the email I have been trying to post for days on every previous test. Format is terrible, but that is my problem ??

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersI’ll try this previous version: thank you.

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersPretty sure that Sockets are not supported on SiteGround based on previous Chat, but I will verify.
Can I uninstall and get an older version of Postie?

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersFYI: requested & got updated to PHP7, but that does not change the Postie problem.

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersNote older PHP version. Not sure if the cURL version is here in the version_number array value, or is missing, but here is the start of the debug output:

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersYes, cURL is my setting. I tried sockets but the TEST CONFIG fails with sockets, TEST CONFIG also fails with POP3-SSL & port 993.
TEST CONFIG connects/succeeds with POP3 & CURL, and postie reliably detects the email I send to the Postie email address.

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersThese settings fail to connect with the mail server when I test the config. The only combination that connects is POP3 with port 110.
Note the failure started before the lasted update of Postie…

In reply to: No image edit/delete icon now in editor with WP 3.9OK, you got me: I should have tried that!
No problem when I activated the 2011 theme. So it does seems to be a Weaver II issue.
Thank you!

In reply to: Trying to understand/use WP built-in gallery: it seems brokenHere is a reply from someone on the Weaver II theme forum about gallery images that have no attachment page links:
I use the “Create Gallery” option on the Add Media, and select images to add to the gallery, and get a shortcode something like:
[gallery ids="1791,2212,2205,1379, ... ,616,617,544,543,536,535,534"]
The default behavior is:
The gallery shortcode renders the thumbnail of those images in rows and columns.
Each thumb should be, when possible, a link to the “Attachment Page” of each image. BUT – and here is what I think is going on with you – not all images necessarily have an attachment page set up, and in those cases, you don’t get the Previous and Next links. I’m not exactly sure how this happens – may be bugs over time as images are added. When I tried to add all 50 images on my test site, the gallery showed all thumbs, but some show with Previous/Next, and others did not. Can’t see any pattern in this.I got identical behavior using several different themes, so this is not theme related.

In reply to: Trying to understand/use WP built-in gallery: it seems brokenHmmm, I have a new WP installation with two posts each with galleries, and an image which appears in both posts/galleries.
Testing the paging of full images is confusing since paging through full page images with ->Next does not match the re-ordered thumbnails (it never does).
I have one image that is in both galleries, and when selected from one post/gallery the Next link takes me to the next image in the other post/gallery, rather than within the images displayed in the post gallery that I selected it from!
I am not seeing the full problem (yet) but this seems broken!
Click on the 3rd image thumbnail in the top post titled ‘Sketchbook 2014: two “editions”’ in my new test blog: https://firstraven.com/RavenWP/ then choose next. For me, this goes an image in the other post/gallery.
I checked the Weaver II forum, and did not find anyone reporting problems with WP built-in galleries, but maybe most users still use fancier plug-ins.
An aside: it is tedious to look at full page images in the 2014 theme; I have to scroll each time to use the Next button! Weaver lets me put the Next link above the image, and eliminates much blank space! Viewing 1 image/page is hardly worth the trouble when this painful!

In reply to: Gallery drag and drop order does not match thumbnail gallery orderNot sure but my problem seems the same but… I can’t fix it!
I have WP 3.6.1, Weaver II (custom subtheme) and no gallery plugins. I am using the WordPress gallery which lets me drag & drop thumbnails into a desired order BUT the slideshow ignores the order. I see comments that it using upload order for the full size slideshow, but I don’t want to upload one at time, and don’t even know how to control the order when uploading multiple files…The slideshow order is more important than the thumbnail order. I tried to delete the gallery and create a new one using “Uploaded to this Post” but that did not help.

In reply to: Images order in Gallery? (3.5.1)Still struggling with the image order, and noticing something else: If you sort your gallery (thumbnails) such that the first thumbnail is NOT the first image uploaded, AND you have the gallery images displaying as attachments, paging through your gallery gets weird.
Next & Previous do not take you through a circular list.
And since you start with an image somewhere in the middle of the list, you cannot view the whole gallery using Next, but will have to back up through the images already viewed to get to the ones you have not seen yet (and who will do that without knowing about the problem?).
Another feature I observed after inserting custom CSS into the approved section of Weaver II theme: using Previous to page through the Gallery, I suddenly found myself paging through all my (hidden) Header images… and could not get back to the original gallery images.

In reply to: sort of pictures in the standard galleryIt has been my experience that you can re-order and save the images for thumbnail view only. The gallery singe image view seems to revert back to the original upload order.
And this means you won’t see the full gallery using Next when you think you are starting at the beginning of the gallery, if the original sort order does not have the same image first!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Remove title from gallery imageI would also like to hide the image titles.
I use the built in WP 3.5.2 galleries, and all my images have been uploaded with the default title of the file name, which is displayed at the TOP of my gallery displays in an extra line so scrolling is required.
It would be lovely to hide both the title and the header image in the gallery image view.

In reply to: Images order in Gallery? (3.5.1)My problem gallery page & shortcode:
https://ptartist.com/making-another-mummy/
[gallery ids="957,963,1000,1005,962,1001,999,1013,955"]
The page displays the thumbnails in the desired order, as rearranged after uploading the media. But when I select a thumbnail and page through the full size images, the sort order is different.
I don’t understand the shortcode sort options, but when I inserted “=menu_order” that put the thumbnails in a different “wrong” order. And a subsequent gallery edit/update via the visual editor stripped that option text out of the shortcode.
