In reply to: Unable to update plugins as of 4.3 auto updateAre you saying wordpress uses that by default? Because I am not familiar with the term SSH2.
The file listed in the patch does not exist in my wordpress.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to update plugins as of 4.3 auto updateI just use the usual dashboard method. Plugins need updating, check the boxes and hit ‘update’.

In reply to: Unable to update plugins as of 4.3 auto updateI DID read that. The problem is NOT just the error message.
The point is the update ITSELF prevents these plugins that were previously not ready, from updating now that they are! The plugins we use all have updates listed to make them compatible with 4.3. It claims 100% compatibility. However, if you click ‘update plugins’ its just spins at you.
This happens when trying to update plugins straight from the wordpress repository and it as far as I’ve always known, a core function (as long as they are IN the wordpress repository, which they are.)
The plugin breaking is expected. The core ability to update those plugins breaking is not, nor is it acceptable for something that auto updates should do that. If it were a possibility someone should have issued a warning to everyone to update the plugins FIRST and do not allow auto update beforehand.
And this file:
wp-includes/functions.phpis a core file, not a plugin file.
Debug is already set to false. And having to ask a shared webhost to turn something off (possibly for everyone) is not reasonable.
It’s one thing to say the plugins are not compatible and either need to be turned off or updated. Its something else to roll out an update that won’t even allow you to run said updates that are available. Not seeing error since deleting the Smart Forms. Still haven’t quite figured out how to get Results page to stop going to default but no error.
oops wait tried to bulk delete test quiz results:
Notice: Undefined index: delete_results … plugins/quiz-master-next/php/qmn_results.php on line 65It started when saving a results page.
Wordpress is 4.2.4 and the theme is called Evolve
Also using:
Wordfence,
WP Spamshield (which I’ll probably certainly have problems with on the front end if I forget to fix settings on that.)
Smart Forms (just deleted and testing without it.)
WP-Edit
Master SliderI’m testing that bit before I mess with the theme. Since Spamshield and Smart Forms seem the likeliest culprits to me.

In reply to: [zStore Manager Basic] No matches found? worked one minute…https://starhorsepaxdesigns.com/wordpress/zazzle-shop/
I ran the update too. It’s not pointing to a specific product, just the store itself. It worked at first…
Wait…I deleted the keywords and now it works? That doesn’t quite make sense..those keywords are on most if not all of the products…
I tried that. I deleted the row (only one to come up) and it went as far as letting me click the accept button in the pop up. And then it redirected me to cpanel! It was weird….
Another cranky user here….even manually inputting the code nothing seems to recognize it. This has been up here for a month, did you guys get kidnapped by aliens or something? We really need this fixed! Even an ‘we’re working on it’ would be encouraging.
I even tried deleting that mentioned row from the database. This got me as far as logging in…but when I clicked accept it redirected me TO the database!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Add a subdomain or new domain name for WP in directory?? Its not working. I have the domain pointed and masking set but wordpress is determined to show the ‘old’ domain and path.
What am I missing?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Add a subdomain or new domain name for WP in directoryOkay…here is what I’m trying to do.
I bought a new domain name from a different registrar than the first one. The first domain name is from Fatcow, the second from Godaddy.
The site is hosted on a different host entirely.what I want to do is point the second domain name into a directory on that host that the other already points too.
This would be the ‘original’ domain being pointed to mysite.com
The new domain would be pointing to mysite.com/newwordpress which is where it was developedThe question is, how to do that so you see the new domain name ie newsite.com instead of seeing it redirect to mysite.com/newwordpress
Sorry if its confusing…I’m pretty confused myself because it seems like it should be doable, but even the ‘how to point domain’ is confusing me and then the whole absolute url thing in wordpress must be dealt with as well.

In reply to: Add a subdomain or new domain name for WP in directorywell, the main site is in the root. There IS an older wordpress blog in a different subdirectory.
And then there is this new one in another subdirectory I was planning on pointing the ‘other’ domain too.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Add a subdomain or new domain name for WP in directorywell the catch is I wasn’t going to physically ‘move’ anything. Just point the domain to the directory its already in.
Knowing wordpress is somewhat finicky on that core…I’m not sure how the database would react. (And I’m sorry to note that Velvet Blues URL changer hasn’t worked for me the last few times. Too bad, it was very handy at one point.)Forum: Themes and Templates
