Edit: Nevermind, I misread the OP’s post.

Exec-PHP did weird things to my WordPress 2.8.4 installation. It recommended I disable visual editor, but the checkbox to do that in my User profile disappeared. So I exported my posts and pages, uninstalled WordPress and then reinstalled. Now, when the plugin is activated, all my widgets disappear. This plugin sucks.

I think my installation was messed up. I uninstalled then reinstalled, now the option to disable the visual editor is showing in my User profile.

I’m new to WordPress and have 2.8.4 installed. In my user profile there is no Use the visual editor when writing option. There appears to be no way to disable it. Is my installation messed up? Has disabling the WYSIWYG editor been removed?

I read somewhere that you could disable it by removing the wp-includes/js/tinymce directory, but that didn’t work either.

I really want to turn this thing off, if anyone can tell me how I’d really appreciate it, thanks!
