In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Fix Duplicates RedirectionHi Enfi,
I got your email about this (I assume that was you!). You should have received an email right after purchasing, but I guess it didn’t get through to you. I’ve resent that email and also replied with the download link and activation key as well (so you should have it twice now).
If you have any further problems let me know!
Cheers,

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Not functional for any custom post creationHi Iswitzer,
How is the user created content being created?
Fix Duplicates should work for any posts, pages, custom post types, etc, regardless of whether it’s created by the admin in the back end or a user submitting it via the front end somehow.
It won’t work for form submissions if they are not saved as a post, page or custom post type entry (ie if they are saved in a custom table).
If you can give me a little more information on how these posts were created (ie using which plugin, what steps you are trying, what happens, etc), then I’d be happy to investigate further.
Feel free to post information here or to contact me directly via my contact form.

In reply to: [LocalCurrency] Prices do not updateHi,
If you can provide the URL I’ll take a look to see what might be causing it. If you don’t want to post it here, you can contact me through my Contact form.
I am just heading into the weekend here, so it could be a couple of days before I can take a look.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] automatically delete duplicate postsHi B0RG,
Missed this one as well. Nice idea about wp-cli. I use it all the time for other things. Will look into that. Might have to add the setting as well, because some users won’t be comfortable with wp-cli.
Anyway, definitely on the agenda.

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Plugin screen seems brokenHi B0RG,
Sorry, I missed this one!
I probably need to revisit the UI for this plugin and try to improve the usability. There are actually check boxes, but they are for the individual titles underneath each duplicate (when you expand them), rather than for each duplicate title – as can be seen in this screenshot: https://envato.d.pr/1e2ju/3etBqOYM
Note: checking the bulk select option and choosing Trash Selected will actually delete all of them. It won’t actually keep one of the duplicate items. Whereas the Trash and Keep custom section will let you keep one of each duplicate title.
This is really confusing and I’ve added making this clearer to the list of things to do! Thanks.
I thought I squashed all the notices, but it seems some have come back. I’ll try to fix those soon.

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] automatically delete duplicate postsHi Samowal1201,
At the moment there’s no way to automatically delete duplicate posts, it’s a manual process only. However it is on the roadmap to be added at some point in the future. I don’t have a set time frame yet, but it should happen.

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Plugin timeoutHi rykkardo8,
Yes, I guess the DB size will have been the problem. I’m glad you’re stubborn, but I will do some testing to see if there is anything I can do to make it more efficient!

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Plugin timeoutHi rykkardo8,
When you say it doesn’t load, which page? The main page for the plugin in the admin area?
If so, at that point it will be calculating how many duplicates there are and grabbing the first 20 from the db. In my testing with about as many duplicates as yours, it’s been fine. How big is your DB overall? I guess if that was very large it may be causing problems.
Let me know and I’ll do some more testing and see if I can replicate this…
Thanks!

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] Timeout on site homepage caused by pluginHi Carterideation,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having problems.
I haven’t heard of this happening before. It’s especially weird that you are having a timeout on the front end of the site.
There are literally only 8 lines of code that would be running for a front end visit and the only thing in here that could be causing any sort of problem (and it’s pretty unlikely), is that it’s loading the plugin options from the database. It’s possible that the database is corrupted and that’s why it can’t load it.
Is the problem still happening? Do you have a link to the site so I can have a look at it? If you don’t want to leave the URL here, please use the contact form on my site and I’ll see if I can help.

In reply to: [Fix Duplicates] I'm sure it works greatHi Danwroy,
Sorry to hear it didn’t work. I haven’t heard of that before.
Are you able to copy and paste one the duplicates for me? Ie copy and paste both of the duplicate titles? There may be a character that looks the same visually, but is actually different from a code perspective.
Hmm, for that matter, a copy and paste might not pick that up. You might need to view the source or inspect the element to see what the titles are. For example you may see
&
in the title of both, but one of them might have&
in the source code, while the other one might have&
. Both will appear the same but are technically different and may not match (unless I add that to the plugin). If you’re not sure how to inspect the element, just let me know and I can provide you with more details.
If you prefer, you can contact me via email over at my contact form.

In reply to: [Show Parent Comment] One suggessionHi Blair,
Thanks for the suggestion! Although I’m not sure I understand. It should only show the first line of the parent comment and then a toggle to show more (as you can see on the screenshots page).
Are you saying it would be better not to even show the first line? Ie show nothing at all (rather than the first line), but just have a toggle to show the parent comment?
Or is it not hiding the parent comments for you, ie just showing the first line? Perhaps there is some conflict with the JavaScript used to hide the parent, in which case the whole comment would show. If that’s the case, let me know and we’ll see if we can work out what’s going on!
Cheers,
Stephen
