In reply to: 404 on subdomain addons with hostgatorHi Mika! I’m in process of moving the multisite installation to the root domain instead doing a subdomain install. I will report back tonight. TY!

In reply to: 404 on subdomain addons with hostgatorOh my goodness, no waste of my time! I appreciate the help. And I appreciate getting to learn from you where to look to check details.
Yes, maybe something with the plugin that I criss-crossed. I remember I couldn’t add the main site. Does that make sense? Only site_id 2-5 are listed. I have my server ip address in there and only permanent redirect checked. It would not keep the check I put in for remote login.
I’ll asked HostGator to check my wildcard subdomain setup again.

In reply to: 404 on subdomain addons with hostgatorwp_options both are correct.
wp_site has only sparkspress.com, no http…should I change that?
The site_id are all listed as 1 in wp_blogs…the blog_id are sequential. Does that sound right?
The wp_#_options are all correct.
I can definitely contact HG support again…
I triple checked the htaccess and wp-config bits.
Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: 404 on subdomain addons with hostgatorI’m pretty sure the bits in the “network setup” tab were copied and pasted fine for htaccess and wp-config. Seemed to make sense at the time anyway.
I don’t know how to check or what to look for about the database tables. Would you instruct me about that?

In reply to: Title, nav links and widgets not showing up on blog pageAny luck with this? It seemed like a complex problem and I wondered what the solution was.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Title, nav links and widgets not showing up on blog pageJust trying to talk this through. So the main problems are:
“the main blog index the only thing displayed is the post content — no permalinks, titles, comment links or widgets”
and
the index page “only shows content from a single post.”
You are using Sandbox theme. What plugins?

In reply to: Title, nav links and widgets not showing up on blog pageWhat about setting up a page template for the custom static pages. See “Page Templates” at the link below.
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_TemplatesChange the page.php back, then make the changes to the index.php file for how you want the blog page to look like the archive page?
