In reply to: [WPAdverts - Classifieds Plugin] Can’t upload images from iPhoneI found how to raise the file upload limit through my hosting provider and it’s working now. The limit was only 2MB.
All OK ??

In reply to: [WPAdverts - Classifieds Plugin] Can’t upload images from iPhoneHi Greg, through trial and error it isn’t related to the phone, it’s file size. Larger files (around 4MB) don’t upload but smaller ones (around 1MB) are OK.
With the larger ones it doesn’t even try. No spinning thing at all.
Would this be a server configuration?
Thanks,
Damien.

In reply to: [WPAdverts - Classifieds Plugin] Can’t upload images from iPhoneThanks Greg – here it is
https://www.premiummtb.com.au/buy-and-sell/create-advert/Thanks – that code does the trick and I was able to change the message using Say What.
For anyone else wanting to do the same, here are the settings for Say What:
Original string (needs to be exact): Create an account for me so I can manage all my ads from one place (password will be emailed to you) or Sign In
Text domain: adverts
Text context: (leave blank)
Replacement String (whatever you want but here’s mine): An account will be created for you to manage your advert (password will be emailed to you) or Sign In
Thanks Greg!
Hi Greg,
Yes, a user can edit the image to make it featured, but that’s really not the answer I’m looking for – here’s why:
When creating an advert there’s no indication which image is the featured image – its fair to assume it will be the first one. After completing the ad and viewing it, the first image is shown as the main image as expected.
A customer will rightly assume that’s the image which everyone else will be seeing in the category listing, except it isn’t. To make it consistent they then need to edit their ad, work out how to make the image featured and then save it again.
Quite frustrating, just to get the same image to display in the category listing and the advert.
Your software is fantastic and your support is amazing which is why I’ve had no hesitation to buy the full extension pack. But I’m going to be competing with other marketplaces and classifieds sites and mine needs to be so easy to use that my customers don’t have to think about it.
Thanks.
I checked that there were no other pages with the same slug and also tried a new slug for the ad details page but no change.
Thanks for your help with this but I’ll leave it – must be something weird with my setup.
Thanks Greg – I’ll try those. Will let you know.
Hi Greg,
That code has changed the breadcrumb – thanks for that.
I added the snippet for the custom slugs again to my functions.php. I copied everything from add_action down from here https://github.com/simpliko/wpadverts-snippets/blob/master/custom-slugs/custom-slugs.php
Custom Fields is already active so I then went into wp-admin/settings/permalinks and clicked save changes. When I mouse over an ad the URL has updated to the custom slug, but clicking on it sends me to the homepage. However, the categories work fine with the new slug.
Then I disabled the Custom Fields plugin and the ads display fine with the new slug.
Thanks.
Thanks Greg – appreciate the quick response! Will check in with you late next week.
I have this problem of the alert email not being sent. I have a variable product with 2 variations and both have ‘manage stock’ ticked.
I receive the confirm subscriber and alert admin emails. Just not the alert subscriber email after I increase the stock from 0.
The plugin is perfect for what I need as soon as I can get the alert emails working.
WC version: 3.2.3
WP version: 4.8.3
WC StockAlert: 1.4.7
PHP version: 7.0.25Thanks.
