  • Hi arafat & lok1728 both your sites are brilliant- this is exactly what I want to do.

I am hazy on PHP and JS, I often manage to copy or change them succesfully, but my attempt to copy the instructions failed.

Please could someone help me with these basic questions?

Step Two – where in header.php do I put that code?

Step Four – You say ‘edit’ – do I replace the thumbnail code there with the code in your instructions? or ADD the code (before/after)?

Step Five – call the function – is this pasted into same file as step 4?

I’m sorry to reward brilliant programminging with dumb questions, but I really want to have thumbnails AND display image

OUCH!!! I did search here and on Google, but i guess it’s all about what you search for!! Sorry and thanks, problem solved – I redid the complete wp-config-sample.php file and all working – must have made an error when I first did it that upset the code – have made a note so it won;t happen again

    thanks

Thanks maxaud, much appreciated – I will have a play with that and see what happens – I’m ok with Css and html but don’t have much PHP skills (yet) I think wordpress is going to fix that gap in my knowledge!!

I would never have thought to insert AFTER the endif.

I spent a long time today trying to make font of the 3 pages listed in the sidebar the same weight as the category titles, I was sure it was just a matter of making a CSS rule for the nested lists, but nothing I did targeted just the page titles. I’ll work it out eventually

You’ve done a great job with that Ferrari theme, I like the random cars in the header – is that a widget ?

Is your car the black one showing side on, LH side?

I’m going to set this topis as ‘resolved’

Thanks samboll, I didn’t realsie it would add the page name to the link.

I’ll be more careful and use the complete URl in future

Problem solved – THANKS for the very quick reply

I’ve fixed the problem, there was some glitch installing wordpress by hand, when I used Fantastico to do the install averything worked and it was so simple. I’ve now installed wordpress on 4 domains, using Fantastico and no problem.

While seraching for the solution I discovered that the password is visible in the data base. Go to PHPMyAdmin – select the database, select wp_users and click on the browse tab – the password is displayed in MD5 and there are a few sites which can code and translate md5 passwords

Thanks very much for the quick replies.

@nzde I’ve downloaded the plugin, thanks, thats it!! I would like to change the icon so that it sits to the left of the named category rather than at present halfway down the list for that category – I expect some CSS will fix that up. And I will change the Title back to just Categories and remove the existing Category box

    – I’ll be working on the site for the next few hours so what you see will depend on what I’ve done.

@maxaud thanks for the code, I’d like to try that too because I want to know more about whats under the hood in WordPress. Where do I put that code, ie what filename and whereabouts in the code?
