In reply to: Plugin auto update?Well, you can’t upgrade the wordpress version unless you actually put the new version of WordPress on the server. That’s where FTP comes in — because files have to be transferred at one point or another (either you uploading the new version manually or your wordpress install accessing www.ads-software.com and getting the new file itself and uploading it onto your server).
The upgrade function was developed specifically to not need to download files locally. If you want to download files locally and upload them manually — I think you’re going to have to handle that yourself.

In reply to: Ozh Click Counter (implementation) Help…and of course if someone can recommend another plugin instead of OZH Click Counter to do what I’m looking for (number of link clicks next to links) that would be appreciated too.

In reply to: get ID of the page that is set as “home”so in that case you need some type of destinction for the front page — perhaps a template reference, in which case you just need to make sure there is no template conflict between the front page and other pages/posts (meaning you use the template only for the front page, editing it on your merry but not using the template on any other page/post besides the front page)…
At least that’s another thought of attack on this. Again I apologize because having ideas does nothing when it comes to the code and implementation.

In reply to: get ID of the page that is set as “home”Well, if you’re using a static home page, you would use the post ID specifically for the page that serves as the static home page. I’m not sure about the code exactly that you would want to use but that’s what you are aiming for, right?

In reply to: Myspace Crossposter troublesI actually got my personal blog to crosspost to Myspace — just had to re-enter all my data on the settings. BUT I get that error message (x3 like the above example I posted). I can live with that… but yeah, this has to be tweaked and repaired and I don’t know PHP well enough to find the flaw and fix it.

In reply to: WP-Admin will not work on a SidekickI’m trying to research blogging from a Sidekick right now, this is a topic worth further discussion… so the interface doesn’t work properly? Would getting a plugin that allows you to blog from a PDA help? It’d limit all the functionality but it’d still be better than nothing, right?

In reply to: CformsII (and other plugins) — parse errorThe problem is corrupted installs. I don’t know what went wrong exactly but I downloaded and uploaded a fresh copy of Cforms and everything worked fine.

In reply to: CformsII (and other plugins) — parse errorI also get this error when I try to deploy Simple Tags on the plugin dashboard.
I am on PHP 5 btw. I’ve seen that as an issue in some of the other threads related to parse errors upon failed activation.

In reply to: Mailpress fatal error / parse errorWell, just FYI — plugin doesn’t seem to work (error that is listed above) in Dreamhost hosting environments but does seem to work (with other technical faults) in GoDaddy.

In reply to: RSS empty feed – 2.5 upgrade issueSame issue here. Mind you, I had issues with my upgrade of my blog in question the first time around but with it running fine…
wp-rss.php doesn’t work (or any of the other files) while /feed does.

In reply to: It works for logged in users, 404 for everyone else?Stupid on the publishers part. It was a draft. Admins could see it but no one else.
I figured it was unpublished or private. I feel stupid for even posting this. Sorry folks.
