Hi @wpsmort. I don’t have a setting for Autogenerate Descriptions. I remember this setting used to exist in the old version of the plugin. I’ve checked a few of my sites and none of them have it.
I fixed three or four old sites that had that #description tag instead of the description I had crafted for the homepage. I think this one is the old bug, the one that was in the plugin alert notifications.
I’d be interested in knowing what happened with the most recent bug:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/all-title-meta-data-and-description-meta-data-deleted-from-home-page/I did have to fix my most important sites as soon as I realized, and I forget the specifics. I think in that case the meta description was simply blank, but I’m not sure.
Anyway, it’s hard to diagnose that now, so maybe we’ll just hope that it will not happen again.
Thanks. I’ve located a few of the sites that have a broken meta description for the homepage. When editing the homepage, in the AIOSEO section, I can see this instead of my meta description:
#description
Does this correspond to some known issue?
Thanks, I thought you’d know what we’re talking about. The first time was the one where the switch to the new style of the plugin broke everything, and you even had to issue a warning through the new Notifications feature.
The other one was discussed here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/all-title-meta-data-and-description-meta-data-deleted-from-home-page/This time it happened with no notification. Again across multiple sites.
I suppose the only way for me to recover the meta descriptions that disappeared from AISEO is to search for old versions of my pages in Archive.org and look at the source code.
However, it worries me that you’re not even aware of the issue.

In reply to: [Pixel Caffeine] Is this plugin abandoned? Are there any alternatives?I did get in touch directly with Adespresso. All they had to say was this:
`This project is separated from AdEspresso and at the moment we are not managing feedback from this channel.
Being an Open Source project, I’d like you to contribute by reporting any feedback or bug directly from the support forum here:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/pixel-caffeineWe also have a common FAQ on pixel caffeine available here: https://support.adespresso.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003393874-Pixel-Caffeine`
So, yes, it’s abandoned.
Hi @rainbowgeek,
if you hide all SEOPress columns, the title column should remain untouched.
I see the problem here: you can deactivate the screen options but when you actually save the screen options, the display is different.
I’ll go for the paid support and maybe we can fix this. It might be as easy as changing the nofollow / noindex columns to an icon or abbreviation.
Yes, I can confirm this happened again. Home page title and description were wiped. Unbelievable. 4.1.0.1 is the last one I’ve confirmed working.
Hi,
I did that already (removing columns).
In fact, simply activating SEOPress breaks the layout of the columns, even with all the SEO columns hidden.
At the very least, the page title column should remain untouched.
I use a lot of plugins that insert extra columns (across many different sites). This is the only time I’ve encountered this problem. I don’t find this problem with other SEO plugins, and I can add as many columns as I need with Admin Columns Pro without breaking anything.
I’m sure this is very complicated, I can’t argue with that, but other developers have figured it out.
I’m very interested in getting this to work, as I want to use it on a site with Polylang and it has the best compatibility.
Again, if buying the pro version will help, I’ll do it.
I have updated to the latest version and it seems you’ve partially fixed the problem. Now the noindex and nofollow columns don’t appear with the title vertically (with one character per line) and the titles have a bit more space.
However, the space dedicated to the entry title is still way too small.

Here’s with SEOPress deactivated:

In reply to: [Add Polylang support for Customizer] Plugin breaks on activationMany thanks for the speedy fix!
I can get you a screenshot but tell me what you need to see in it. Let me know if I can get in touch by email for that.
I installed the last SEOPress version, I hadn’t used it before.

In reply to: [Add Polylang support for Customizer] Plugin breaks on activationThanks for the quick reply! No, I don’t have the free and pro version at the same time, the free version is inactive. I do have Polylang for WooCommerce active, but that is necessary.
I’m on the latest version of everything and I have 54 plugins enabled. The fatal error appears when enabling your plugin and stops when I move it out of the plugins folder (because it locks me out of everything).

In reply to: [Pixel Caffeine] Filter by product stockUnfortunately this still hasn’t been solved. I hope there’s an update soon.
This is preventing me from switching to Rank Math, even though I have a Pro/Business account.
Got it. So on that days’s sales, the individual products will be listed as sales and the bundle as a negative sale. Makes sense now! ??
