Hello @josy1024,
Yes I understand that your plug in will not work on all themes. I probably have the programming skills to adjust the plugin, if you can suggest where I might find the code to change. I could be willing to pay for your help if I understood how much it costs. If i buy the Pro theme does that include your help? I am happy to pay that. Here again is the link to the page https://0021375.netsolhost.com/wordpress2/gallery/brothers/

Please provide the link to the page and screenshot of settings page, so that we could see the error.
I don’t understand. Do you refer to the Dashboard/settings/general screen? Or the wp-settings.php? The wp-settings is a longish text file so I can send it as .txt for full access.
Let me know, and thank you .

I also have this issue. Or similar. I’m using the theme Catch Box, a responsive theme. Going to the web page and clicking on the gallery gives a nice three column gallery. But as I resize the browser window wider the gallery ‘responds’ by going to one column of photo thumbs. Re-sizing the screen down to a small width gives a one column, or a 2 column thumb gallery. Would like the gallery to stay at 3 columns wide in the larger device screens.

https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/gallery-plugin/Above URL no longer there. However, I found the answer in the support on the plugin’s web page. The fix was in the theme’s css where I had to change z-9999 to z-9. Search the plugin web page posts for Gallery plugin.

In reply to: [Catch Box] changes in headerI’d also prefer the social iconst to be at top, right, like on the related theme Simple Catch from the same company. But Simple has only one nav menu.

In reply to: New WordPress Site, how to use existing domainGreat helpful response! I’ve come to the same conclusion as I’ve been trial-and-erroring my way through a transition to WP. Your solution helps confirm what I _thought_ I got out of the support/tutorials. Will figure out the rest.
Seems like a lot of problems I’m seeing on this forum come from this very issue as new users want to test and build before replacing HTML, or don’t realize that WP imbeds directory/path strings in various ways that don’t just update the folder hierarchies when you move to different folder/directory or even renaming the directory after the install (which is what I did).
Thanks

Will it be an easy transition to replace the old site with my new WP site? Is it something I can do myself, w/limited experience? Thank you

In reply to: New WordPress Site, how to use existing domainSo on the topic of “How to use existing domain?”:
I see a lot of posts requesting help for “…I moved my WP web site that I built to a different folder on my hosting service and now it doesn’t work”. One approach is to not move the folder, rather to build it in place and then point the DNS to that directory. If I’m already using my root directory for my (crappy) html web site, can I build the WP site (less crappy) in that root directory then, when it’s ready to make public, how can I turn the new WP site on (then disable the old HTML site by removing the content). Is the trick in the dashboard setting for making the site public/private? or is it that we need to modify the .htaccess file, or is it that we hide the index.php landing page on WP until it’s working?
By understanding the best practice for replacing HTML with WP on an existing domain maybe we will struggle less. Maybe.
Thnx.

In reply to: New WordPress Site, how to use existing domainI think maybe secondnature is asking if you have hosting set up but just replace your old site (HTML??) with a WP site, in the same directory (?), will it the URL/domain start to show the new WP site.
They’d have to do a full WP install in the root directory. Will that then display the new site right away, or are there other steps to switch from an index.html to an index.php?
