I’ve just tested it on several different PHP versions and I cannot recreate the issue.

Can you please tell me what is your WordPress version and PHP version?

    Please try to:
    – Switch the WP theme and check for errors.
    – Disable all other plugins and check for errors.
    – Uninstall my plugin and install it again.

After you do all of that, we can continue this conversation.
You need to help me recreate the issue so I can fix it.
At the moment I cannot recreate it. Everything is working fine on my side.
If you have any errors in debug.log please make a screenshot and contact me through strongetic web development professional website.

    Dear AllyAlly,

Thank you for your kind words and support! I’m glad to hear that you find my plugin fabulous and effective. I appreciate your feedback and the time you’ve taken to provide it.

Now, let me address your questions regarding the listing sort order:

    1. The default listing order in the Admin dashboard is based on the chronological order in which pages receive their first visit. This means that the pages that have recently started receiving visits will appear first in the list.

    2. Currently, the plugin does not offer a specific sorting option to display pages based on the highest number of visits. The available sorting options are limited to A-Z and Z-A.

I understand that sorting by the highest number of visits would be a valuable feature, and I appreciate your suggestion. I constantly strive to enhance my plugin, and your feedback helps me prioritize future improvements.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with any other aspect of the plugin, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m here to help!

Thank you once again for your support and valuable feedback.

    Warm regards,

    Denis Boti?

    Hi there!
    I appreciate your patience.

I have thoroughly tested the issue on my test site.
I published the page named “08 – L’échéance se rapproche“ and I’m glad to inform you that everything is working fine.

I have checked the Console, and it shows that both the JavaScript and PHP statuses are “OK.”

    – JS status = OK
    – PHP status = OK

These statuses remain unaffected whether I am logged in or logged out.

Additionally, I have examined the debug.log file, and there are no errors or warnings present.

Have you checked your debug.log file for any errors related to the issue?

When troubleshooting WordPress issues, it is generally recommended to follow these steps:

    1. Check the WordPress theme
Switch to a different (default) WordPress theme and check for any
bugs or issues. If a bug or issue is not present when another theme
is active, it means that the bug or issue is with the WordPress theme.

    (Check the console and debug.log)

    2. Check plugins
Disable all plugins and then enable only the plugin that seems to be causing the problem. Check for any bugs or issues with this specific plugin enabled.

    (Check the console and debug.log)

If there are no bugs or issues when only my plugin is enabled, try enabling the other plugins one by one. Every time check for the issue.

    (Check the console and debug.log)

This will help identify if any of the other plugins are causing the problem.

    ====

I hope this explanation clarifies the steps I have taken to investigate the reported issue and provides you with valuable insights on how to proceed with debugging the problem.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

    Hi!
No it will not rest after 99,999 visits. You can reset it by your self whenewer you need to. 99,999 is not the maximum number of visits. (I think.)

Hi, if you are already logged in, your visit will not count.
So, you can visit your site like this
    your-domain.com/wp-admin
where you can log in first and then look at your website.
That way it will not count your visit.

    Thank you for your proposal.

All right, as we both agree that everything is fine with this plugin
I am going to mark this issue as resolved.

Maybe page-visits-counter-lite javascript isn’t fired at all.
Cause for this could be for example, if your site or one of the other plugins has some kind of javascript error that has to run before page-visits-counter-lite and it breaks.

If that is the case then you need to hire a professional to fix your theme and/or your plugin/s.

I can only confirm that this has nothing to do with this plugin.

You need to log out and visit your site otherwise the visit will not be counted.

After you click F12, also you need to switch to the console tab.

    As I said,
I’ve just tested the plugin installation and functionality with the latest WordPress version 6.1 and everything works perfectly.

It also has no errors or warnings when running on PHP version 8.

( You can maybe hire a developer on FIVERR for $5-$10 to set it up for you. )

By changing the theme you can find out if the theme code is causing the issue.
It is the same with deactivating plugins, you can find out if a certain plugin is causing the issue.

If the site is set locally then I would say that 2nd and 3rd steps are not relevant.

This is a long shot but you can try to debug it like this:
    – Try to deactivate all other plugins.
    – Also, you can try to change the active theme.

    Hi Alan,

if you have read the installation instructions then you understand that cashing can appear in 3 different places. (Not just WP plugin/s.)

    1. WP plugins
I am not sure you can find all cashing plugins by yourself and clear the cache memory.

    2. Sever/Hosting
You can contact support and ask them to clear the cache for you.

    3. Cloud service
For example “Cloudflare” service. First, you need to find out if your site is using a cloud service and which one. After that, you can try to search for a youtube tutorial on how to clean the cache on that particular cloud. (You’ll probably need cloud account login credentials.)

It is also important to clear the cache memory in the right order 1-3.

I am not sure if my explanation is going to help you in a way where you can solve it by yourself. Maybe, you should consider hiring someone to help you with the setup.

    Hello Ronaar,

    thank you for the suggestion.
Thing is that user IP is usually dynamic. (It changes every 24 hours.)

Also, I wanted the plugin to be light as possible so it doesn’t slow down page loading time by more than 0.04sec.

    SOLUTION:

If you are logged in to your site as an admin then your visits are not going to be counted.
