I have just been on the phone with very helpful hosting and they updated the PHP settings on their end which …I think… has solved the problem!!

I haven’t heard back from my hosting yet and didn’t have time to trouble shoot but am sitting down to do now.
I don’t know what PHP I am using? Obviously I need to update it and my hurdle has been getting back up using Updraft. My website seems to be so crippled at the moment that when I try to install the plug in I get this error:

Installation failed: 500 Internal Server Error <!–[if lte IE 6]><![endif]–> Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Web Server at studiohome.co.nz <!– – Unfortunately, Microsoft has added a clever new – “feature” to Internet Explorer. If the text of – an error’s message is “too small”, specifically – less than 512 bytes, Internet Explorer returns – its own error message. You can turn that off, – but it’s pretty tricky to find switch called – “smart error messages”. That means, of course, – that short error messages are censored by default. – IIS always returns error messages that are long – enough to make Internet Explorer happy. The – workaround is pretty simple: pad the error – message with a big comment like this to p

Any suggestions? Perhaps go for PHP update regardless as I think this might be the major issue

I have requested information from my hosting company right now.

That particular post was the first made using the upgraded site. By shortcode …would this refer to embedded posts? I was embdedding posts from instagram (which I have done a number of times before the upgrade) and perhaps this is an issue?

I also have a PHP update that I need to do but need to update my site first. I have tried doing this using Updraft last night but nothing was working. I will try again and see how I go.

Any other advice you might have around the issues I am having with posts I build unable to update/save would be appreciated. Perhaps I should revert to the old editor?
