You’re almost there!

Could you point me to an example of code? We don’t all have this level of knowledge. I have index.php and other files I can modify, and a bunch of *.js files in the library folder, but :

– what do I modify?
– what do I replace it with?

BTW, in the theme folder, the file: theme-options-custom.js had typos. It read lable instead of label. So it’s possible we have more problems.

Have you checked the link and see if it’s working for you in FF?

I’m not expecting it to be easy. I’ve tested a dozen players already, and none of them work easily, despite everyone saying their plugin is easy and simple. When you work with jquery and html5, nothing’s easy.

The site is complete, this is the last bit. I’ll do more testing and let you know.

The player doesn’t play in Firefox, but plays in IE (it’s usually the opposite)…

Could you let us know how to fix that? My client has put his site live and it’s kind of embarrassing to not have the player play in FF… It’s been like this for 2-3 days now…

Another feature that may be good, is the ability to decide if we want the player to play once or loop indefinitely.

Strangely it’s working in IE!

I use FlashBlock as a Firefox add-on to stop all the flash insanity, but I thought the song would still play as a *.ogg file?

Confused…

Also, how do we extend the description field so it uses a longer description?

Well, glad others were able to find solutions. It sure gives me hope!

I placed the shortcode [hmp_player] in a text widget after entering an audio file info in the HTML5 jQuery Audio Player settings. I did use “” quotes and a ! in the Description, but the player wouldn’t show. So I took them out, and now the player shows up. Great!

However, it’s not playing. Used absolute links, inserted both file types, it shows, but when I click the play button, nothing happens.

Hi,

My solution was to use a different plugin. So for me it has been solved by turning my back on eshop. Hopefully someone will someday finally beta-test their plugins with newbies and learn how to communicate with about 90% of their potential clients and create tools they can actually use…

OK, but if I use Duplicator to create a backup of my whole site, can I then restore it later to the same site, same host. let’s say I mess up a site I’m working on and have to revert back to a previous version.

1- Can I use Duplicator to do that?

2- Where could I find step by step instructions to do so?

Thanks again! I was able to unzip the back-up I had downloaded on my computer and re-upload some of the files that had been messed up, so now the site is back up!

It looks very daunting. This is a multi-site as well, so I’m sure how I don’t want to delete anything right now. Do you think I could start by uploading and overwriting the wp-admin and wp-includes folders? Could that cover a good bunch of it?

Thanks! Didn’t mean to complain about you guys, just about my own situation and how it does seem that all my efforts go nowhere fast…

HOWEVER, I would say this: I was able to finally have the site installed. My issue was with a modification that as done to the config.php file. I commented out the code in question and now the site is showing. Also there was a redirect plugin which I’ve disabled.

Now this is a multisite too, so I have no experience with this type of madness, so I’ll be bringing Duplicator back into my good graces and look to it in the future for simpler site backups. This one here has been heavily edited, so I am NOT blaming it on the plugin (anymore…)

Sorry to jump in like this, I’ve been roaming the web since last night trying to find a solution to my issues. Here is what I discovered:

1- Don’t use Duplicator with Dreamhost. I encountered repeated strange memory allocation fatal errors.

2- If you created a database on your host to deploy your Duplicator backup, when you access the installer.php file via your browser, UNCHECK both boxes in the database field, and just enter the database info you just created.

Hope this helps someone else…

HOWEVER: WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you know quite a bit and can troubleshoot yourself, you will encounter difficulties. Help tutorials are for “perfect” scenarios only. The creator admits he can’t possibly cover all situations, and I found that in my case at least, a simple 5 minutes conversation could have helped solve a lot of issues. But there is the rub: it will cost you $125 and hour, one hour minimum, payable in advance.

Help Tickets are also possible from their website, allowing up to 5 days for them to respond to your question.

That, with Dreamhost unavailability, makes Duplicator not an easy plugin to recommend for me.

I finally succeeded in installing the package on BlueHost, but I’m now totally confused as to why the URL I used for my new site goes back to the original site. Clicking on the permalink refreshing or anything else doesn’t lead any result.

If I try to log into this new WP install:

Since I’m trying to refresh their site, I decided to start working on a draft and present this to them in the hopes of getting the gig for the whole site. However, now I’m completely lost as to what’s happening. That’s about 5 hours of work that brought no result.

So unless your situation is straight-forward, you have money aside to pay for support, or can decipher the specific problems AND find appropriate solutions, I’d say think twice about using Duplicator.

I’m heading to a different “wonder back-up and redeploy” plugin now. Hoping my feedback here will inspire the creator to examine the provided instructions vs installation issues, filling some blanks along the way…

Also hoping plugin creators would stop using terms like “easy” “best” “easiest” “only 3 steps”, etc. It’s not always the case, even less when dealing with sites backup and redeploy on a different server.

One last note: the Duplicator plugin totally could rock your world in the right way! My own experience wasn’t conclusive. Still waiting on support while I try other ones.
