My setting is different:

Category 1 – no parent – no post – name in both languages
Sub category 2.0 – parent Category 1 – no post – name in both languages
Sub category 2.1 – parent Category 1 – no post – name in both languages
Sub sub category 3.0.0 – parent category 2.0 – with post – name in both languages
Sub sub category 3.0.1 – parent category 2.0 – with post – name in both languages
Sub sub category 3.0.2 – parent category 2.0 – with post – name only in German
…
Sub sub category 3.1.0 – parent category 2.1 – with post – name in both languages
Sub sub category 3.1.1 – parent category 2.1 – with post – name in both languages
…
(Of course there are more categories and more posts per category as you can see in the sidebar. This is just an example.)

Settings – Languages – General Settings – Hide Content which is not available for the selected language. Checked
Show displayed language prefix when content is not available for the selected language. Unchecked
Show content in an alternative language when translation is not available for the selected language. Unchecked

Advanced Settings – Use Pre-Path Mode (Default, puts /de/ in front of URL). SEO friendly. Checked

Result: Sub sub category 3.2 is shown in the sidebar with empty link text, valid link and wrong number of English texts.

I tried your settings with my categories and posts and languages and it does not work for me.

Maybe because “Umweltbildung” is a child-child-category and parents and grandparents have posts?

That’s not really correct: The parent includes other categories which have posts and so does the grandparent.

Try to switch to English and choose “Umweltbildung” (last category) for example.

Same problem here as described by Alura Vine with a brand new installation (no upgrade) and using the default theme (Twenty Twelve).

In my case the plugin “All in One SEO Pack” version 1.6.15.3 is the culprit.

This is no solution but a miracle. And I’m not able to get WPtouch working on my blog.

Finally I had time to try a test installation. And there it works. I really do not understand why: I copied all the files from one server to the other, modified only wp-config.php and made a DB-backup from the original database with WP-DBmanager which I restored to the test-DB. I did not have to deactivate a single plugin. Wptouch worked from the start.

I think only the DB can be the problem because all files are identical and maybe WP-DBmanager doesn’t save all DB-data. So I will make a dump of the DBs and compare them.

Unfortunately this doesn’t work neither! The only thing to stop WP from pinging is to remove all ping services and disable pinging. I found no other solution until now.

Thanks for you’re reply. I know that search tracking is possible with piwikTracker.trackPageView(). But the very interesting new feature to see what people searched for on your website and did not find is not possible.

This is not correct.
I was referring to https://piwik.org/docs/javascript-tracking/#toc-tracking-internal-search-keywords-categories-and-no-result-search-keywords . It reads that on “normal” pages you would use piwikTracker.trackPageView(). On search result page, one has to call instead piwikTracker.trackSiteSearch(keyword, category, searchCount). Without this tracking of intern searches which had no result is not possible. (I add the code manually to my WP-installations because your plugin seems to miss that feature.)

This problem still isn’t resolved.

Does anybody know if there are some “markers” maybe in the table “wp_posts” which mark a post as already delivered to ping services?

I deactivated all plugins except wpshopgermany because this would reset all his options and WPTouch still does not work.
