Thank you so much, I followed all the directions from each of the links and completely deleted all my themes (yep, losing my customizations). But the site is now secure (so far) and no more users/hacks/links are getting through. Thank you, again.

Replacing the vars.php file did the trick.

I would very much like to know why it happened, though. If anyone knows or has a guess, I’m all ears.

Mine is doing the exact same thing!

It only happens in Firefox, but to all the themes I’ve tried. I’m not sure how to make more Firefox friendly…and I’d like to because I enjoy Firefox so much better than IE.

I’m using Mozilla Firefox.

I have fixed the problem by again, and again EIGHT MORE TIMES uploading the files.

It should not take more than once or twice to upload an upgrade, though, to make it work. I’ve never had so many upgrade problems as this time.

Yes, it was the wp-config.php that needed to be redirected. But again, I didn’t touch the file. I couldn’t tell you WHY it was pointed incorrectly unless something went awry when I backed up. Thankfully, I also backed up my databases as well as my wordpress files.

If it’s not the right info…how would it have changed WITHOUT me changing it? This is what is really confusing me.

And how do I find the info to change it back if it was?

My index.php file says:

First, I get this message:

No Upgrade Required

Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!

Then I go to the unfinished blog’s admin panel, at an entirely different url, melissajones.net.

All I had done with that new one was install WordPress several weeks ago via Fantastico on Bluehost. I have since included a message to my Sugared Harpy readers.

It helps to know another way to play with it, but sadly, I can’t get that to work either. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

Ah, as soon as I posted (of course) I figured it out. The default on my WordPress installation for user posts is to mark them “private.” I had several users email me about their posts, but I could never see them.

Ah, they were marked PRIVATE so I couldn’t see them.

So, make sure that your users do not have the “private” button checked if they are ready for you to edit and publish.
