In reply to: [OceanWP] Woocommerce Categories not showing up in MenuYes OceanWP v1.5.20. The site is fully up to date.
If you put a category in the main menu it does not display the entire description. If you list it under another term it does.
For example
Shirts Pants Shoes – These will not display the entire description.
————————————————————————————
But if you did this: The entire description will display on each category.
Clothes
Shirts
Pants
Shoes- This reply was modified 6 years, 8 months ago by suncoastorganics.

In reply to: [OceanWP] Woocommerce Categories not showing up in MenuYes we found that. Unfortunately you can not use the categories for the menu because instead of just displaying the name of the link to the page, the entire description is displayed in the menu.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] The description and the title showing in the menu?Do you have any idea where that setting might be? Why would anyone want the entire category description displaying in a menu?

In reply to: [OceanWP] Woocommerce Categories not showing up in MenuWe are also unable to adjust the height of the menu when added to the header via the menu widget.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no need for screen shots.
The individual products listed under the subcategory display under the category.
We only want the subcategory displayed under the main category. If we wanted to display the individual products we would just list time under the main category.

We also found another issue with woocommerce and subcategories.
When you adjust the settings for how many products and rows you are going to have on a page you set it so you have an even # of products displaying on the page. For example 3 rows 21 items. 7 rows of 3. All full rows.
If you add a subcategory it is not counted So you will have 21 items displayed and the subcategory. that is 7 rows of 3 items and 1 item left over at the bottom of the page.
The subcategory should be counted as one of the 21 items.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Both product and sub category showing under category.Who would create a subcategory and then list all of the products of the subcategory under the category?
The shop page also has some really problematic design issues. You can either list the categories, the individual products or both. But if you list the individual products they will not display in their categories ( They are just randomized?? ). If you display the categories and the products you have a list of the categories and then the product jumbled up ( un-categorized ) all over the pages. So the only option that looks even remotely professorial is the categories option.
I am not sure if this is an issue with the theme or woocommerce.
Does anyone have a solution?

In reply to: [OceanWP] How to connect a template to our categories page. The categories pages are not able to be customized like the individual product pages.
All you can do is basically add a title and description. I assume this has something to do with how woocommerce set them up.
Regardless our site is coming along nicely. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Remove? This is where you can add new products to your store.Ok, Actually this does come from woocommerce. It seems some themes handle it differently. If you look at the instructions for oceanwp on how to get rid of it you will see the code needs to be added to a woocommerce file.

If you are working with oceanwp this video will be very educational. It answers your question pretty early on in the video about disabling the top bar.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Small issues with woocommerce pages.Hey Amanda.
Thanks again. We have resolved the issue with the subheading on the shops page. It was something added by the theme.
As far as the continue shopping button sending the customer to the Shops Page: Do you have any idea how that could be changed so it sends them back to the category page of the product they just purchased?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Remove? This is where you can add new products to your store.Ok, The theme is oceanwp.
Looked all over to find the text
“This is where you can add new products to your store”
It is not shown, so we did not know how to modify it. To modify it, you go to the shop page and click edit then title and fill in the empty subheading field with your text.
If you want to remove it, the proper way is to follow the instructions from the oceanwp author on the thread linked below.
