Hi! This looks exactly like the problem I was having. And, yes, my markup was lacking the <?php wp_head(); ?> and <?php wp_footer() ?> codes. The site had been launched back in 2007 and is in obvious need of some tuning up!

I am noticing the source code showing “visibility hidden” in the audio link:

<audio class="wp-audio-shortcode" id="audio-8550-1" preload="none" style="width: 100%; visibility: hidden;" controls="controls">

Can this be changed?

I’m still wondering what could be going wrong.

The shortcode was working up until ~May 16. I’m reluctant to diddle around with the media.php file.

Help?

Re: Adblock. Not on the desktop I use. Plus, I have no plug-ins installed into Chrome, where the problem also exists. The embedded audio is also not visible/playable when I work on the site locally, using localhost. The client first noticed the issue Monday; prior to that, everything appeared okay. Audio (mp3) is embedded using the Add Media function from the content menu, i.e. [audio] shortcode.
