1) Remove unused plugins.
2) use cache plugins
3) avoid cheap web hosting.

so simple it is.

WordPress is a beauty, the problem is from our ends. Probably you are having slow speed because:

1) Using lots of plugins.
2) Not optimized your images/
3) Over use of the JavaScript
4) Not using caching plugins.
5) Godaddy is a huge organization, and this huge is making huge problem for the clients as far as the quality is concern.

Well i would suggest you two ways:

1) Before uploading the image, try to compress it, using a software.

2) Use plugins to optimize your images.

Note: In fact, work on its extension as well, like jpg, png and etc. Use the extension which will take less bytes.

2) try to use some cache plugins.
3)If you have images, then try to use some plugins to compress it.

Note: Even cheap hosting also bother so much, i believe you have got the good one.

Just work on above points and probably it will help you. Sometimes uses of Lots of JavaScript will also create problems.

2) Can do manually as well- Yes, you can manually remove the category as well.Let’s understand it with example.

Let’s say you have a category url like: sharplesson.com/category/code-tutor/

And you want it to look like:
sharplesson.com/code-tutor/

then follow bellow steps:

Step1: go to setting, you will see it in your dashboard.

Step2: then click permalinks

Step3: select custom.

I have heard somewhere, that Google is not favor of putting links in the theme or plugins people will create.
