    Yes, I found out I needed to upgrade the theme, though there was no upgrade listed in the dashboard. I did and now have the Caveat theme. Oddly, when I upgraded all my widget code disappeared. I had to downgrade back to the previous version and then they were back and happily, the Caveat font remained. ??

    UPDATE: I reverted back to the 2.5.7 version and my widget code/sidebars/footer are back. And, bonus, i got to keep the Caveat font. But I would like to stay current with the theme version so could you please let me know how/why my widget code disappeared and how to keep it?
    Thank you-
    PS I tried to find the widget code in my backup but couldn’t. I backed up wp-admin, wp-includes and wp-content. Is there more?

    Thank you Kevin, that solved my font problem and I did a few tweaks to get the site style back that went away (stuff I edited manually in the CSS files.) However, all my widget code is gone as is my sidebar. I backed up the site before doing the upgrade but I will be searching for my widget code unless there is a quick fix for this.
    But I am very happy to have the font, it was important to the design.

    I suppose, maybe Kevin. Do I have to purchase a premium version to get this update manually? It appears so.

    And that is odd because I just did a search for Virtue in my Dashboard/Themes/Add new and the 2.6.7 version is available. So if I install that will it override the current virtue version or make a new theme option in my installed themes?

    I am on 2.5.7 and I see the latest version is 2.6.7. I need to upgrade but I don’t see the option to upgrade. Now I need to tackle this child theme issue. If I make a child theme, how will it get updated? If I don’t make a child theme I assume all my edits will be lost in the upgrade? I am still a newbie on some issues.

    Thanks Kevin. Have you tried that plugin? It is a little different, having to get an API key. And you have to pay for more than one font, though I only need the one.

    OK I did not know that about the separate forum. Thanks. It is a google font, but Virtue only uses 250 of the available Google fonts because of load time. I will try their forum directly and hope for a response-
    There is a newer toolkit, but I looked at the changelog and fonts were not listed. I just did a boatload of updates on the site so i was not wanting to find out the update might be “beta” type or something like that.
    Thanks again

    Jose,
    It’s the Virtue theme by Kadence themes. I tagged this post with “virtue”, which is the only way I know of to get them to reply in this forum. That is how other Virtue theme questions have been here. This forum is their only point of contact unless I pay for support. Paid support is also via forum but not in the wordpress forum – I am hesitant tu suggest that to my client; I would need to know it will be speedy(er).
    Still hoping they will reply. I have no idea where to add the @ code for the font. I know in a “normaL” HTML site it is added in the head section of the page, I have looed for wherever the other google fonts are called up in the php files but I can’t find it.

    The menu is built into the theme

    UPDATE
    I am using a different test page now:

    https://www.lifepathbydesign.net/temp/

    Our objective is to have a header image that looks good on a desktop or phone. We probably need to have an image that is taller and narrower display on small-screened devices, so two images. Is this correct? I am only displaying header image on the blog pages now.

    Also, for the rest of the site – home, about, etc. – we want to add a different header image.

    Because I only wanted the headerclass image on the blog pages,I had added CSS to not display the headerclass and am using the pageids/postids, as you can see from my post above, to display the blog image header on the blog pages and posts. Here is the code (from this forum ) to prevent the header from displaying on all pages

    .headerclass {
    background: url(none);
    width: 100%;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    }

    Hope this helps clarify.

    OK I replaced the

    background-size: cover;
    width: 100%;

    with

    background-size: 100% auto !important;

    and now it’s responsive but – the image is so tiny it’s irrelevant on a phone. I would like it to just go away on a screen that small.
    Thanks

    OK that worked, but I had to change the styling for the main blog page from .blog to the actual page id. But at least it works now. Thanks

    Hannah,

    If I click on the Blog main menu link, the Alchemist post is displayed. This is not in the Life Path Posts category and thus, should not display per the settings in Blog list options.
    Yes I have a blog page set and that is the one the Blog menu item links to

    If the Life Path Posts category is clicked, again fine. It’s when you click Blog which goes to the main blog page that it gets all the posts.

    Hi Hannah
    No that page is fine. It’s the main blog page that is supposed to have only Life Path Posts. It also has the book review post
