In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] How to add alt.text to images in recipeBrecht – my mistake, it was images in a sidebar widget were causing the message. Nothing to do with your plugin. Sorry.
I must say I am really enjoying using it – so user friendly!
Cheers

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] “Failed to initialize plugin: wplink” warning.Hi Brecht, well the issue occured again, so I re-ran the troubleshooter and it looks like the WP Optimize plugin is causing the problem. What’s the next step please?

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] “Failed to initialize plugin: wplink” warning.Morning Brecht, I checked the recipe pages this morning and the issue seems to have disappeared?? If it comes back I will run through the troubleshooter – but for now I can’t replicate the problem.
Cheers.

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] “Failed to initialize plugin: wplink” warning.Hi Brecht, I have gone into Site Health – Troubleshooting and decativated all plugins. When I call up the article it shows this – is this what you need?
“Your site doesn’t include support for the WPRM Recipe block. You can try installing the block, convert it to a Custom HTML block, or remove it entirely.”
Nothing showed up when I disabled/enabled each of the plugins???
Sorry, I am not overly techy, but willing to give it a go.Hi Adam, thanks for the links. I hadn’t realised that you needed to actually have a code snippet on your site BEFORE Sitekit would add the code site-wide (a bit counter-intuitive).
I added a code snippet, this was the bit I was stressing over but somehow managed it. This then gave me access to the Sitekit toggle, which I turned on, and then went back in and removed the code snippet. Hey-ho my site has now been connected, I have got green ticks, and it is marked as ‘getting ready’.Fingers crossed!
Thanks again.
ChrisHi Adam, thanks for the prompt reply.
1. Site Health info – sent via Google Forms
2. Screenshot link?https://flic.kr/p/2pxRehi
3. No Adsense code as been added manually – this is my first time at applying for AdSense
4. I have trawled for hours to try and get an explanation for why I can’t see the toggle on SiteKit – so any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
ChrisThanks for your quick rely – I will contact them directly.
Hi Emily, I re-activated Jetpack today but unfortunately, the same issues occur, so I have deactivated it again.
What further concerns me is the fact that Google PageSpeed Insight figures get worse once it is activated.
Without Jetpack Boost:
Mobile score 92, 100, 100, 100
Desktop score 97, 100, 100, 100After activation, this PageSpeed performance score drops to 89 mobile and 75 desktop – with a specific mention of the cumulative layout shift.
Obviously, I don’t want to leave Jetpack Bost activated if it is going to negatively impact the site, can we set something up so we can look at this in real-time?
Emily i have turned Jetpack off for the moment. I will try and look at this again next week.

In reply to: [GenerateBlocks] CLS issues Pagespeed insightsHi David, thanks for your advice. I deactivated Jetpack and have just re-run PageSpeed Insights. The scores have definitely improved Mobile 94 and Dekstop 96. I guess I will leave it deactivated if things have improved.
I notice that it still says about ‘Properly size images’. I am a bit confused here as I upload photos after they have been compressed by Tinypng (there might be a few outstanding ones). And I also have Customized the Featured Image on the Archives/Pages/Posts to 500 width and 300 height – Attachment size – Medium-Large. Is there something else I should be doing?
Donncha, just to let you know I have just re-run the PageSpeed Insights with Jetpack deactivated and the performance scores have increased to Mobile 94 and Desktop 96.
All the other scores are 100.

The score was always in the middle to high 90s for mobile and high 90s desktop.
I have just deactivated Jetpack at the moment as I am looking at some advice I received re a possible issue with CLS – see below.
*** CLS happens when “data” the browser requires to render the page correctly is either a ) Not available such as a missing width attribute on an image or b) is late loaded such as CSS Style or Font.In this case it looks to be the latter causing the issue. ie. the styles for the GB blocks is being loaded after the page has first been rendered. If you check the Thumbnails in the filmstrip on the Pagespeed report you will see the images are really large occupying a single column. And later the columns are loaded.
So the issue comes from whatever optimization / cache plugins you’re using. Debug by temporarily disabling any plugins that “optimize” the site. Wait a while before retesting on Pagespeed as Google or in between server may have cached your page. ***
