I have no clue about the mysql or php settings so I am unable to guide them to slove the issue.

a better solution would be that glider_pilot changes his mysql user and password (and make it longer than 3 chars) asap.

Make sure the the transfer type is set to auto in your FTP client.
It probably is, but it’s worth checking.
