Hi Everyone. Please see Lukas’ response from Timely at this support thread: https://time.ly/forums/topic/reiterating-content-in-sidebars-conflict-with-post-teaser-plug-in/#post-208266.
Looks like the ball is in Post Teaser plug-in’s court.
Weyhan, will you please respond?
Thanks/Kind Regards,

In reply to: BuddyPress Group Avatar Options Not Showing up Under AdminHi. Solved this. Somehow the Settings>BuddyPress>Settings>Profile Settings>Avatar Uploads>”Allow registered members to upload avatars” box had become unchecked (perhaps during a BuddyPress update?) If the box is checked, the Upload/Change Avatar option will appear under your group Admin tab on the front end of the site. Also with it enabled, registered members can upload their avatars with or without using Gravatar. Hope this is helpful to others.
Hi. I would like to follow up about this. The developer of this plug-in, Michael, was very helpful and tested my site. Using his email address as the site contact in the Settings>General he tested, and everything worked fine. This lead me to investigate the possibility that my emails and test user emails might be getting blocked at the server/web-host. They had me check my maildir.>new at the root directory. Sure enough, it was filled with my test emails and site manager notifications. You can read these in Notepad. By submitting a ticket with the valid blocked mail files attached, the host was able to get this working. It should be noted that not all the files were blocked by mistake – many had been rejected as spam addresses of those trying to join the site. Bottom line: this problem was not the fault of the plug-in. Check your blocked mail file at your host via ftp. Thanks, Michael.

Hi Michael,
Yes; I have taken the site out of maintenance mode so you can see it. If you contact me privately, I can also give you the credentials. suracharlier@gmail.com. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Michael. Thanks for those great test instructions.
This is a test of the wp_mail function: wp_mail is working
What do you think about the other two problems I mentioned?
Thank you,
Sura
Hi Michael,
Is that the same program that sends the emails out about new forum posts? If so, yes, it works. If not, please tell me how I can check that it is working?
Thank you.
Sura
Hello Michael,
Thank you for the kindness of your reply. Yes, the boxes for the settings below are checked.
This morning, I also tried deactivating the calendar, as it had a former conflict with bbPress with regard to the settings, and retested, but same same. Thank you for your help!
Sincerely,
Sura

In reply to: [Registration Options for BuddyPress] Great plugin!Hello All, I was hoping to use this plug-in, along with BuddyPress Registration Groups https://hardlyneutral.com/wordpress-plugins/ on a site WP 3.8.1 site I am developing: https://www.soi-seattle-kinship.org. (I realize that the plug-in is only recommended up to WP 3.5.2.)
When I tested the new user registration, I received none of the moderation text, no email notification, and could already access and use all the group forums before admin approval. The plug-in did seem to work with the BP Registration Groups, by listing the individual groups on the registration page. (I did try disabling the Groups plug-in to see if it was conflicting with this plug-in, but had the same results.)
Plug-in authors, will you please respond and let me know if you see a way to make this work on my site with WP 3.8.1? Thank you.
I would also like to vote, ‘Yes, please’ for having your next update also block unregistered users from using bbPress sitewide forums.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Sura

In reply to: links to blog posts broken@diversebydesign; I can’t even get a URL to bookmark, as cannot use the ‘view page’ feature in the editor and get a 400 error or going nowhere when attempting to use the links. I’ll let you know if I find a solution to this problem. I, and others, I’m sure, would appreciate the same from you; thanks.
@ Frumph; thank you – I will try posting this to the Themeforest forum.
Best Wishes to All,
Sura

In reply to: Dropdown Menus Not Appearing in IE9Hi. In case anyone else needs this, the pathway and instructions are these:
The file that needs to be edited is the “script.js” file in this directory:
/wp-content/themes/soi/script/“soi” is a variable in the path, so other wordpress installations will have a different value in the path there. Think of it really as /wp-content/themes/FOO/script/. The soi directory is probably a modification of dandelion, as the “dandelion” directory does not reference console.log in it’s script.js file. Consequently I’m not sure how useful this fix will be to other users of the dandelion theme.
if in doubt, you can turn on script debugging in internet explorer, and you’ll see an “object is undefined” type of error pointing to console.log on a particular line of the script.js file. You can see the path there while in debug mode.
the line that needs to be commented out is
// console.log(jQuery(this));Apparently “console” is only a valid object reference while Internet Explorer’s developer tools are active. This is why the menus work when you’ve activated developer tools by pressing F12.
Glad; thanks for writing back. For anyone else, here are the pathway and instructions:

In reply to: Dropdown Menus Not Appearing in IE9Hi. This issue is now resolved as a result of this clue from the theme author. Our other problem (“Google Maps Not Appearing In Events Pages”) was also solved as a result of the fix. It wasn’t the plug-ins causing the problem. We accessed the ‘console’ entry via ftp, about 5 levels deep and deleted it, then the dropdown menus worked fine. If you can’t locate it, please write back and I will ask my partner to tell the pathway we took. Best Wishes.

‘some JavaScript functionality is adding logs to the JavaScript console and I think when the console is disabled, this stops executing some scripts. When you enable the console (F12 enables the developer tools), everything works normally. As I always have the console enabled by default, I didn’t experience any problems.
So, this is most likely caused by a plugin installed, so you can try with temporarily disabling all the plugins installed. Or if you have added some additional JavaScript code, just make sure to delete the logging lines:console.log(…); ‘

Hi; I would appreciate help with this also, please. The URL is soi-seattle.org
The Google maps feature worked fine on our developer’s site, but when we transferred the site files to DreamHost and went live, the events pages show a blank box on the right and a ‘view full-size map’ prompt.
Will someone please help with this?
Thank you!
