In reply to: [Customizr] Featured image on posts in Customizr child themeI did copy that file, I think just to add the google analytics javascript. Took that file out completely, but still cannot upload the logo. I do have some cashing mechanism in my WordPress hosting, that sometimes messes things up. What should i do now?

In reply to: [Customizr] Featured image on posts in Customizr child themefollowing up on this: any idea why I cannot re-upload my logo? And why it dissappeared in the first place?

In reply to: [Customizr] Featured image on posts in Customizr child themeHi d4z, thanks a lot, that seems to point in the right direction.
Following your advice, I updated the customizr theme. However now my logo image is gone and I can’t seem to re-upload it. Yikes.
On the plus side the featured image is now showing. So that worked. Genius! Thanks

In reply to: Customizr theme very slow loadingThank You webbrewers. Apparently the “render blocking javascripts” are mentioned in a lot of WordPress websites by Googe pagespeed analysis, so I am not the only one. I will give the slider image reduction a shot.

In reply to: show excerpts on twentytwelve childtheme blog pageHi Christine. Your first solution worked! Thanks so much! I thought for sure the blog page is an archive.
I have tried your second suggestion before, but that makes everything, even pages, show excerpts.Very strange. My homepage is a static page, not a blog.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Found a Bug? – Media – Lightbox isn't workingThank you! I just discovered this. and it did fix the issue with diplaying the image instead of the page. However isn’t the slideshow functionality supposed to automatically start in 3.5.1? If I click on the thumbnail it opens but I cannot navigate to the next imnage.

In reply to: subdomains/subdirectories Go DaddySo I was thinking: if the blog is new you can set up sub-directories. After a while though, you will have accumulated a number of posts and then how can WordPress deal with the set-up any better than if the post were already there in the first place?
In any case I am looking forward to a fix in a future version as they promised.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: subdomains/subdirectories Go DaddyThanks again Ipstenu!
I found this on the interwebs, so apparently there is a way to remove the blog slug. Not sure if I want to go through the hassle

In reply to: subdomains/subdirectories Go DaddyOn further exploration I think the problem is that my WordPress site is over a month old. I found this in the “Before you install” page: “You cannot choose Sub-directory Install (for a path-based network) if your existing WordPress installation has been set up for more than a month, due to issues with existing permalinks. (This problem will be fixed in a future version. See Switching network types for more information.) “
Is there a way to go around this?, the site has only been up for just over one month

In reply to: multisite domain mapping with existing domain nameOk I got it to work!
I registered another test domain again with GoDaddy.
I went to added it to the domain manager panel. I then just changed the IP address to my main IP and submitted it.
After that I pointed the WordPress domain manager to the new URL. When I went to my site URL it said this site is not available at this time. However once the DNS propagated a couple of hours later it was live!So it seems I have to make sureI do things in the correct sequence. Thank you all for your help! Phew!

In reply to: multisite domain mapping with existing domain nameOh and Bob: My host is GoDaddy too. I did not change the nameservers

In reply to: multisite domain mapping with existing domain nameThanks for your response Ipstenu and Bob,
ok I pinged my test subdomain and low and behold its going to the wrong IP address. But on the Go Daddy control panel it says its going to my main IP address ( the one I redirected it to.)
So apparently its the GoDaddy end thats not working.
Ipstenu are you saying I should uninstall the domain mapping plugin and then re-install?
Both these sites and urls are just test items to try out the domain mapping thing, so no data is lost.
Also I undid the redirect and am just using the new IP address on the GoDaddy domain controlForum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: multisite domain mapping with existing domain nameIts still not working. I don’t know what else I should do. One weird thing is when I put in the new domain on the WordPress end the little ball spins for a very long time before the change gets done. I suspect there might be an error in my settings somewhere.
Did you turn on “Forwarding” in the GoDaddy domain control? The GoDaddy help dude said to do that. I am not having fun!
